Nicole Metz

New City, NY, United States

Ask Nicole Metz what she has spent her career doing, and the answer is simpler than her titles suggest: developing people. Across more than thirty years in human resources and talent management, her work has centered on helping people build the skills, confidence, and judgment needed for the roles ahead of them. Nicole began her career in federal account sales at Xerox Corporation before moving into the company’s training organization. Sales gave her a practical understanding of what businesses expect from their people; training showed her what individuals can achieve with strong instruction and direct feedback. She trained hundreds of new sales representatives in selling skills, product knowledge, and professional services, earned certification across Xerox’s sales training catalog, and eventually advanced to training the managers responsible for developing other trainers. She carried that focus into leadership roles at Science Applications International Corporation, serving as Assistant Vice President of Human Resources and later Director of Talent Development and Management. There, she developed program managers and information technology professionals while delivering program management training across the organization. Her contributions earned the company’s People First Award, selected from a workforce of approximately fifteen thousand—recognition that closely reflected the philosophy behind her work. At TASC Corporation, Nicole served as Senior Director of Talent Management for the Intelligence Group. Partnering with senior executives and division directors, she led work in succession planning, organizational design, executive coaching, new manager assimilation, and workforce metrics. She also managed more difficult organizational challenges, including redeployment and reduction-in-force planning.
