Design is about shifting perspectives—and mirrors, quite literally, help us do that. We’re proud to once again support the next generation of Australian designers through our continued sponsorship of the Australia’s Next Top Designers Awards.
– Matt Angus, Managing Director, Flexmirror Australia
After the success of last year’s immersive installation—captured in the image above— Flexmirror Australia is proud to return as a sponsor of the Australia’s Next Top Designers (ANTD) Awards at Design Show Australia 2025.
The 2024 gallery space, designed and built by our friends at Mayd, showcased emerging design talent within an environment shaped by our Superbrilliant and Semi-transparent Flexmirror foils. The result? A space that bent reality, extended sightlines, and redefined how reflective surfaces can be used in contemporary interiors.
For 2025, we’re excited to once again be collaborating with the team at Mayd, who are currently working on a new concept for this year’s ANTD gallery space. While the design remains under wraps, visitors can expect the same boundary-pushing approach—this time shaped by fresh ideas and new materials.
Flexmirror has been used to shape some of the world’s most iconic spaces: from Apple flagship stores designed with Foster and Partners, to installations with Olafur Eliasson at Tate Modern. More recently, our mirrors featured in Sound + Vision, a large-scale installation by acclaimed Australian artist Jonny Niesche, accompanied by a soundscape by renowned producer Mark Pritchard. Our technology has also helped define retail environments for brands including Audi, Coca Cola, Samsung, and Chanel.
Now, we’re bringing that same design potential to Australian architects and designers— creating new possibilities in scale, clarity, and creativity. With distortion-free reflections at up to 3m wide and over 30m long, and total weight under 2kg per square metre, Flexmirror redefines what large-scale mirrored surfaces can be.
To see what’s next, join us at Stand 447 at Design Show Australia. We’re right next door to the ANTD gallery space and would love to show you what Flexmirror can do.
You can also reach out to Matt directly at matt@flexmirror.com.au . See our projects on Instagram at @flexmirroraustralia

Shining a spotlight on emerging designers, makers and creatives, Australia’s Next Top Designers Showcase curates an array of breakthrough products and concepts shaping the future of design. Meet this year’s finalists.

How do you create a memorable lasting moment from something that’s temporary?
With an ongoing interest in exploring the use of new materials in unexpected ways, formed the foundation.
The design celebrates the use of Dunlop foam. Foam is a material that’s usually hidden. In this case, we wanted to elevate it into something more proud and monumental.
The design is inspired by an ‘out of space’ aesthetic with its soft continuous form and colour. It focuses on the question of futurism, and is a vision of yesterday’s tomorrow.
The idea explores furniture as sculpture. A singular form that expands and grows to create and inform the spatial condition.
The solid block of foam is dissected and cut in increments to reveal the function as furniture.
The seamless monochromatic/mono material is intended to heighten our understanding of the foam material itself and create a soft physical touchpoint.
Reminiscent of ‘Verner Panton’s ‘Visiona 2’. The foam forms start horizontally at ground level and gradually rise to turn into seating and eventually rise upwards into a vertical wall surface that highlights and frames the speakers.
Whilst there are significant differences between installation design, furniture and sculpture. The three disciplines overlap at their edges, and it is here that this space exists.
At the end of the shows life, the foam will be recycled and turned into carpet underlay, and will live on somewhere under your feet.

From Icons to Imitations: Can the future of interior design survive the copycat era?
Are products and finishes in your new project posing an environmental threat and harming the people using the spaces? Poor procurement choices quietly fuel a sustainability crisis in the interior fit-out industry, from replica lounge chairs to short-lifespan furniture. This session exposes the false economy of low-quality design and explores how copy culture erodes trust, undermines innovation, and contributes to an escalating waste problem. Join the Authentic Design Alliance and Cultivated as we explore the environmental and ethical costs of specifying fake products, and learn how authentic sourcing creates lasting value that protects the planet, supports original creators, and safeguards the future of our industry.

No Spec, No Circularity: Why waste starts on the drawing board
Designers, specifiers and contractors shape what gets built — and therefore, what may gets wasted. Circular economy outcomes depend on early decisions: choosing the right products, designing to minimise waste and when it’s unavoidable, recovering it for reuse. Everyone on the project team has a role to play — whether you’re buying, designing, selling, fitting, or disposing.

Championing Local Excellence at Design Show Australia, Kitchen+Bath Show, and ArchiBuild Expo
Sponsored by Australian Made
This year, we’re proud to introduce a brand-new feature running across our three co-located trade shows — Design Show Australia, Kitchen+Bath Show, and ArchiBuild Expo — the Australian Made Trail.
