Biography Of Matthew Deets

Matthew Deets wears many hats, but he does more than wear them—he wears them with purpose. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Life and Financial Coach, and presently holds the position of President and Director of Operations at Impact Training Center, LLC

Matthew is united in his beliefs across every position he holds: here to help people take that next step forward. Whether he is supporting someone through a traumatic event, coaching a family to financial stability, training professionals, or coordinating business opportunities, Matthew's work demonstrates both compassion and skill in serving others.

Early Roots and Academic Journey

Matthew was raised in the small community of Weyauwega, Wisconsin. After graduating from high school in 2006, he attended the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, where he studied Psychology, with a focus on human services.

Matthew's dedication to education was evident right from the start He graduated Summa Cum Laude, earning numerous academic and departmental honors, as well as the university's Chancellor's Leadership award. He later completed his Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh.

This educational path provided the perfect platform for what would become a very people-oriented career. Even then, Matthew had the desire to make a positive impact on people's lives using the knowledge he gained.

A Career Centered on Mental Health

Matthew initially launched his professional career as a Residential Therapist with Lutheran Social Services (LSS) of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. After demonstrating outstanding leadership and clinical skills, he was appointed Program Supervisor and Therapist for the Family Preservation Program in Marathon County, Wisconsin.

Matthew then moved on to work as a Clinical Coordinator at North Central Health Care before eventually settling into private practice with Compass Counseling, LLC.

While working in full-time capacities, Matthew also held part-time clinical positions at Peaceful Solutions, Elmergreen Associates, and Gateways

Counseling Center. During his tenure in these positions, Matthew developed a specialty in trauma-focused therapy and sex offender risk assessment and treatment--working with both juveniles and adults

His clinical experience includes training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Brainspotting, and motivational interviewing These methods enable him to meet clients where they are and help them find genuine, lasting solutions and make meaningful changes.

Building Beyond the Therapy Room

In 2023, Matthew expanded his interest and skills beyond therapy, becoming a trained Financial Coach through Ramsey Solutions He formed his own LLC-MatthewjRPC, LLC, through which he provides individual, couples, and family coaching, while also volunteering his time to facilitate online Financial Peace University classes.

Matthew is passionate about helping individuals and families take control of their financial futures. Additionally, Matthew trains other Ramsey Preferred Coaches in several areas, including mental health and motivational interviewing His ability to connect counseling principles with practical financial strategies gives him a unique edge in the coaching world.

Leadership at Impact Training Center

Matthew transitioned to the business world in January 2025, beginning his role as the President/COO at Impact Training Center, LLC. This role encompasses everything he has ever done on the clinical, coaching, and leadership sides At Impact, he leads a team focused on training and development, ensuring the organization offers high-quality, affordable, and convenient programming for individuals seeking professional growth

Matthew sees leadership less as hierarchy and more as building systems that work. His approach to leadership involves collaboration with individuals in key positions, moving in a purposeful direction, and adopting a people-first mentality

Giving That Speaks Louder Than Words

Behind the scenes, Matthew has a strong record of quiet generosity. Over the years, Matthew has consistently supported both local and global organizations, including World Vision, Compassion International, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the American Heart Association.

He has also supported faith-based and community organizations, including his local church, Hope Life Pregnancy Center in Wausau, Life Promotions, 89Q Radio Station, and Liberty Counsel.

Matthew has also actively served in ministry and outreach, teaching Sunday school and volunteering at clinics and men's conferences throughout his career. Additionally, he has visited sites with certified therapy dogs through Therapy Dogs International, providing comfort and connection through these visits

Family, Faith, and Real-Life Values

Matthew's life is more than just a series of professional titles He is a father of four and a man of faith. He has four children, including one adopted daughter, Israella, and three biological children, Islah, Irena, and Ilias.

Family life is busy, and they enjoy spending as much time together outdoors as possible, being active hiking, biking, camping, or visiting national parks.

Christianity plays a significant and steady role in his life He has been involved in the church for years (teaching Sunday school and involvement in men's ministries) and has volunteered with different outreach and community programs. Matthew's foundational values are based on Christian principles of grace, compassion, and love, which he uses to guide his approach to life and interactions with others.

A Life of Movement and Momentum

When Matthew's not at work or adventuring with his family, he leads an active lifestyle and has completed several 5Ks, 10Ks, a half-marathon, a full marathon, and a triathlon Matthew is also involved with a road cycling club and enjoys both

road cycling and mountain biking. To him, being active is more than just about the fitness aspect; it’s a means to stay disciplined, mindful, and grounded.

He is also a passionate traveler. Before turning 30, he set and accomplished the goal of visiting 10 countries, including Venezuela, Jamaica, Germany, France, Italy, and Malaysia Matthew still travels with his family and has a long list of national parks they have visited together. His goal is to see every national park and every professional baseball stadium.

Real Impact, No Spotlight Needed

What makes Matthew's work unique is not his credentials or titles, but his consistency in supporting others Matthew does not seek glory or fame Instead, he aims to be dependable, honest, and helpful He can provide calmness in chaos, structure in uncertainty, and motivation when motivation is most needed.

He embraces each role—therapist, coach, leader, father, or volunteer — with only one focus: helping others take the Next Step Forward. Whether it’s through a conversation or a quiet act of service, he's creating a lasting impact.
