We have one goal: to give your child the highest standard of education and ensure they leave as well-rounded, independent learners ready to flourish at secondary school. We will support them in setting high expectations for their future and develop their approach to learning to ensure it is aspirational and leads to academic success All staff go the extra mile to ensure every child feels safe, happy, and excited to develop a real love of learning which will stay with them for life. Our student council play a key role in decision-making and we take their views seriously. We aim to do this by focusing on the highest standards of teaching and learning and developing practitioners at all levels to create an exceptional educational offer

The vision for Stradbroke Primary Academy was co created by pupils, staff and parents: Our vision is for Stradbroke to be a safe, inspiring and inclusive community, which celebrates diversity. We have the highest expectations of pupils and aim to provide an exceptional education, which will equip pupils with the knowledge, ambition and resilience to achieve their full potential. Wherever possible we provide inspirational and enriching experiences to broaden horizons and promote a love of learning.

Enrichment, beyond the classroom, is offered for all key stage 2 children at Stradbroke. It is our passion to broaden the scope of the children's current life experiences and further add to the cultural capital of our pupils

The curriculum at Stradbroke has been designed from the idea that knowledge matters It is broad, ambitious and rigorous. Our curriculum is highly effective and delivers high outcomes across the board.Reading is at the heart of our curriculum and is a huge focus for all our pupils, but especially our youngest pupils. Our children have access to the highest quality texts at every stage to develop their love of reading and to secure skills of inference, prediction and comprehension essential to access wider learning opportunities.

Explicit in our curriculum is a focus on developing the whole child with excellent behaviours for learning, resilience and ambition so that our pupils can fulfil our high expectations and develop high expectations for Athemselves.tStradbroke, we are proud that all of our pupils, including our children with barriers to learning (SEND), have full access to our curriculum. We have the highest expectations paired with strong teacher pedagogy and excellent support from leaders. We aim for all pupils to make excellent progress.

Excellent progress and attainment Pupils at the end of both key stages consistently achieve above national expectations. Prior to 2020, we had a year on-year increase in achievement in all key measures. Trend data prior to the pandemic indicated that the gaps between advantaged and disadvantaged pupils have closed by the end of KS2.

Key stage 2 attainment of the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics combined was significantly above the national average and in the highest 20% of all schools in 2019. 87% of our pupils achieved the national standard compared to the national average of 65%. We continue to work hard to ensure our pupils do the best that they can.

Pastoral support is a real strength of the school, providing targeted interventions in a timely manner, which include nurture sessions, and support for parents via our PSA and ISA and individual play-based therapy sessions when the need is identified. House System At Stradbroke Primary Academy we have a house system. Enrichment is free of charge on Tuesdays and Thursdays and runs until 4:30 pm for Key Stage 2.

Once your child's place at Stradbroke Primary Academy is confirmed, we will discuss your child's barriers to learning with you and your child in detail. We will also talk to your child's current setting (if applicable) and any other professionals working with your child. Together we will draw up a plan with short-term targets focussed on your child's special educational needs. The plan will include provisions that reduce your child's barriers to learning as well as strategies that your child's teacher(s) can use in lessons. Learning Plans, provisions and targets are reviewed on a termly basis with both you and your child and adjusted as needed to reflect their changing needs. If your child has an EHCP, the short-term targets will be linked to the EHCP outcomes

We offer wrap around care if parents require it. Parents can book and pay for their child to attend Breakfast club, from 8 am, and/or After School club, until 4:30 pm. These are available every day of the week.

Our gates open at 8:45 am and registration is at 8:55 am. Our youngest children leave from 3 pm and our oldest at 3:15 pm.

If your child has an identified special educational need or an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), the first step is to talk to our SENCO, Miss Williams. She can give you an overview of the kinds of reasonable adjustments and provisions which are typically made for learners with SEND at Stradbroke Primary Academy to ensure that they can access the curriculum and enrichment opportunities

For the first admission to school, the common application form will be sent to parents using data supplied by Norfolk PCTs in accordance with the published timetable. For transfers to Secondary school, common application forms will be sent to parents via their child's current school. Closing date for applications will be as per the published timetable.

By law, children must start statutory education full-time at the beginning of the term following their fifth birthday. Where admission is offered prior to compulsory school age, parents may defer their child's entry into school until later in that academic year. Our admission policy allows children to start school earlier than the law requires. However, the law also allows parents to ask for their child to be admitted but lets them delay the start date until later in the school year. Your child must start school by the beginning of the term following their fifth birthday and the place must be taken up by the start of the summer term. If you inform us that you wish to delay your child's entry the place will be held and will not be offered to another child.

At Stradbroke Primary Academy we are committed to keeping staff, pupils and visitors safe and happy. Our Designated Safeguarding Lead ensures that effective support is provided to pupils that need it and our strong pastoral system ensures that all pupils are well known and their needs understood.
