Since its founding in 1755, Vacheron Constantin has enjoyed a particularly meaningful relationship with women. The oldest gem-set piece in its private collection dates back to 1812. The Grand Lady Kalla now adds a new chapter to this tradition. Based on the design of the Kalla introduced in 1980— itself the heir to the Kallista presented in 1979—this new timepiece offers several different ways to be worn. A luminous treasure, set with more than 46 carats of diamonds cut exclusively in emerald shape.

In 2024, the Grand Lady Kalla lives up to the name that inspired it: the Greek word kallista, meaning “the most beautiful”. The 57 facets of the emerald-cut diamonds selected for this creation emphasise their crystalline clarity. The dial, slightly refined to reflect contemporary tastes, has been embellished by the master gem-setter with modernised claws. Reduced to the smallest possible size to allow space for the hands, they appear triangular on the bracelet and at the centre of the case to enhance the gemstones; or pyramidal to form the Maison’s iconic Maltese cross, shimmering with light. The onyx and diamond sautoir necklace, along with the Akoya pearl tassels chosen for their lustre and perfect roundness, create an engaging dialogue between Art Deco and the twenty-first century.

On its 150th anniversary, the Swiss Haute Horlogerie Manufacture Audemars Piguet presents its latest technical sophistication with the new Royal Oak “Jumbo” Ultra-Thin Automatic Flying Tourbillon Chronograph RD#5, marking a new era in the history of chronographs and the evolution of complications. This exceptional timepiece houses the new Calibre 8100, completely redesigned to meet the demands of the most discerning collectors.

The manufacture is one of the three recognized at the pinnacle of haute horlogerie as the ‘Holy Trinity,’ and the Royal Oak is its flagship model.

Specifically, the RD#5 features an exceptional instantaneous jumping minute counter alongside an hour counter. Furthermore, and for the first time in the Royal Oak collection, it combines a flyback chronograph with a flying tourbillon. From the land of Sicily, matter is transformed into art and design.

On the occasion of Art Basel, Paola Lenti Miami presents a reflection on material and its expressive languages through an installation featuring the textured garments of Sicilian artist Marella Ferrera, in dialogue with the Sciara surfaces she designed for Paola Lenti.

SIKELIA showcases a precious collection of unique works inspired by Sicily, created by the artist between 1993 and 2000 and preserved in her historical archive at Palazzo Biscari in Catania.

The garments tell the story of Marella Ferrera’s design research into hemp, ceramics, copper, glass, terracotta and coral: materials embroidered onto textile supports in an unconventional and artistic way.

Through these techniques, elements of her homeland are transformed into wearable creations, giving rise to a narrative that pays tribute to Sicily, the island of her origins. Marella Ferrera’s unconventional career, which began in the world of haute couture, expanded into architecture in 2015 with the creation of Sciara, a project developed in collaboration with Paola Lenti. Sciara is the Sicilian term describing volcanic deposits that form on the surface or along the slopes of lava flows.

Con motivo de Art Basel, Paola Lenti Miami presenta una reflexión sobre la materia y sus lenguajes expresivos a través de una instalación que presenta las prendas texturizadas de la artista siciliana Marella Ferrera, en diálogo con las superficies Sciara que diseñó para Paola Lenti.

“My meeting with Paola Lenti gave me the opportunity to translate my textile vision into habitable spaces, exploring the vast surfaces of domestic interiors and investigating colour in ways I would never have explored on my own.”

The Sciara walls on display reflect different chromatic and compositional approaches. The result of a decade of research, each wall explores how the size, arrangement and tonalities of the tiles can generate infinitely customisable surfaces, evoking the expressive power of a painted canvas. For this occasion, the visual strength of Sciara defines Paola Lenti’s design through the special project The Sea of Sicily: three large specialedition tables forming a chromatic continuum with which Marella Ferrera celebrates the island’s coastal waters.

Like a snorkelling journey, the nine-metre span of the tables reveals, through fused glass, transparent waters mingling with the fine, pale sand typical of the Agrigento coast. Continuing the exploration, one reaches pebble shores where the sea deepens into saturated greens that fade into turquoise and finally into an increasingly impenetrable blue. This is the colour of the sea surrounding the Aeolian Islands, volcanic lands with almost black seabeds formed by lava.

SIKELIA presents a vision of beauty born from a creative collaboration driven by a strong inclination towards experimentation and a shared desire to transcend disciplinary boundaries.

Sciara is a collection of tables, side tables and consoles born from the dialogue between material and colour. The surfaces, crafted entirely by hand, are always different from one another, making each piece unique and one of a kind. Vibrant textures—surprisingly irregular or evocative of natural forms—express the primordial force of the volcanic landscapes that inspire the collection. A contemporary language that unites aesthetic research with artisanal expertise.

Designed to integrate harmoniously into architectural projects, Sciara elements can be used to clad vertical surfaces, both indoors and outdoors. Their versatility allows for applications in residential and contract settings, while their material character engages in dialogue with architecture, enhancing volumes and geometries. A design solution that combines aesthetic value with the uniqueness and personality of an exclusively handcrafted process.

THE WORLD AS INSPIRATION

Gigi Clozeau was founded in the South of France in 2010 by Gigi Clozeau and her mother, Marie Clozeau, driven by their desire to share a belief in the power of joy and optimism, and inspired by Gigi’s father, Alain, a jeweller. Landscapes around the world, hidden treasures in nature and striking contrasts — such as the soft white of a horse against the deep black of a bull — have become Gigi’s principal sources of inspiration. “These places, which sheltered my happy childhood and the symbiotic relationship between my parents, evoke love and a precious sense of protection in me,” Gigi explains. “It was there that my siblings and I were instilled with a profound belief in life. That is where our roots lie. My mother has lived in our family home since she was four years old!”

From the family workshop where Gigi Clozeau jewellery is crafted, Gigi laughs: “These beliefs come from my Mediterranean origins, much like my style of dress, which might once have been described as extravagant.” Sequinned shoes, turquoise-embellished suits and pieces by avant-garde designers of the 1990s such as Jean-Paul Gaultier and Irié et Jean Colonel filled Marie’s wardrobe, becoming a true source of learning for her children.

“We learnt that clothing, and dressing in a unique way, is a genuine form of self-expression a way to feel free and to cultivate creativity,” Gigi says.

The brand grew quickly. “We wanted to offer a spectrum of variations inspired by my birth jewellery, letting them shine in every colour of the rainbow and share our love story with the world. Choose your colours, choose your charms, and tell your own story,” Gigi Clozeau explains. Designed between New York and Nîmes, the pieces draw inspiration from the South of France, California and Gigi’s travels. Featuring charms such as the cactus or the eye, everything is crafted by hand in the family workshops created by Marie and Alain Clozeau, using Alain’s distinctive technique.

The blend of Alain’s refined style and Marie’s imaginative touch, together with the exclusive use of 18-carat gold, transforms these pieces into an ode to quality, authenticity and simplicity.

There are perfumes that remain etched in the memory, said to do so because they evoke an emotion that is never forgotten. Starry Nights by Montale has always been one of them. Made from Chardonnay grapes sourced from the estates Descalzos Viejos in the Serranía de Ronda (Málaga), Huerto del Mellizo, and La Indiana. The different locations, along with the specific soil characteristics and microclimate of each site, allowed the grapes to be harvested on different days. The 2024 vintage experienced a mild spring with good rainfall, followed by a warm, dry summer. Bright, straw-yellow in color with golden highlights. On the nose, it shows floral and citrus notes with a subtle mineral touch. On the palate, it is very fresh and savory, with an intense finish; the six months in French oak barrels are barely noticeable. Produced only in exceptional vintages, this wine comes from a single vineyard in Pedrosa de Duero, at 805 meters above sea level, planted with a family clone of Tempranillo aged 40–50 years, with very low yields and great concentration. Traditional and sustainable viticulture practices include meticulous manual cluster selection, ensuring grapes of outstanding quality. Pago de Carraovejas

Pago de Carraovejas marks the origin of Alma Carraovejas in 1987, when the winery was founded with its first 9 hectares and the dream of becoming a benchmark within Ribera del Duero. After thirty years of development, the scale of the estate has far exceeded its initial expectations and, in the face of its exponential growth, it set out to define new ambitions.

The first Pago de Carraovejas harvest took place in 1991, the result of barely 70,000 kilos produced by the first 25 hectares in production. It is the 45th winery to join the Ribera del Duero

Designation of Origin. In the following years, both vineyard and winery expanded in successive stages, guided always by the determination to preserve absolute quality. Today, the estate encompasses 220 hectares, 160 of which are in full production.

Pago de Carraovejas marca el origen de Alma Carraovejas en 1987, cuando la bodega nace con sus primeras 9 hectáreas y el sueño de convertirse en un referente dentro de la Ribera del Duero. Tras treinta años de trayectoria, el alcance de los límites de la bodega ha superado enormemente las expectativas en sus inicios y ante su exponencial crecimiento, decide trazar nuevos retos.

The vineyard sits at an average altitude of 850 metres. The estate grows three varieties: Tinto Fino (Tempranillo), Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Several viticultural approaches are applied, adapted to the varied topography traditional viticulture in the valley, and mountain viticulture on slopes that in some cases exceed a 30% gradient, while in others terracing is required to manage the steep inclines.

THE CARRAOVEJAS VALLEY

At an average altitude of more than 800 metres and with a south-west orientation, the soils display a sandy-loam texture throughout, containing 40% calcium carbonate and 10% active limestone.

THE TERRACES OF EL ANEJÓN

A steep, sun-drenched slope with privileged views of Peñafiel Castle, this site represents one of the few examples of terraced vineyards in the Ribera del Duero D.O. The soils impart a distinctive minerality to the wines. The hillside has a 13.2% gradient, faces south-west, and sits at an average altitude above 800 metres.

LA CUESTA DE LAS LIEBRES

Planted in vertical bush vines in 1994, the vines at Cuesta de las Liebres climb a pronounced slope that in places exceeds 40%, rising to almost 850 metres above sea level. It is their grand cru, where Tempranillo reveals its purest expression.

ESPANTALOBOS

Espantalobos is the newest vineyard area within Pago de Carraovejas. Located directly opposite the winery and oriented to the northwest, it is a small valley descending from the páramos. In this rugged environment, the vine benefits from a remarkably fresh mesoclimate reinforced by an ‘échalas’ bush-vine training system, characteristic of the Rhône, which promotes greater sun exposure and optimal balance in the ripening of the fruit.

On December 4th, in the heart of La Marina and the Costa Blanca, the Boffi DePadova Studio Moraira was inaugurated. The renowned interior designer Juanjo González, supported and encouraged by his personal and professional circle, launched this new project, continuing to collaborate with prestigious firms such as Boffi and DePadova, undisputed names in Juanjo’s work. The numerous attendees, including friends and clients, architects, interior designers, developers, and builders, toured the new facilities with Juanjo and the Italian executives of the companies whose names grace the showroom.

“What attracts me most to realist painting is, paradoxically, its most subjective side: that personal gaze the artist allows to show through in what is depicted, their way of seeing the world.

In my case, I observe what surrounds me and jot down loose thoughts, phrases or small drawings in my sketchbooks. At first glance they seem like unrelated ideas, but little by little they begin to weave a vision, a way of bringing order to the chaos in which we live. Those fragments of reflection, those ways of thinking and looking, are, I believe, what make us interesting as people and as artists. And that is precisely what I try to convey in my painting.

My obsession is to try to communicate, through painting, everything that exists around us beyond what can be seen: the feelings, the circumstances that surround it. I invite the viewer to interact with the work and, through it, to relive situations from their own life. To let the same questions arise in their mind as those I asked myself while painting it. That magnetic gaze that holds you when you watch an anthill at work, filling you with reflections and curiosities, and preventing you from moving quickly on to the next thing.

I am interested in the human element, in people and their interaction. That is why I do not paint portraits: I am interested in the act of reflection involved in painting, and in the possibility of inviting the viewer to draw their own conclusions.”
