Luther College offers an English as an Additional Language (EAL) program to equip students with the essential English language skills for academic success at Luther and in university and post-secondary studies!
Using both one-on-one instruction and classroom teaching, we ensure individual needs are being assessed and supported in a positive and caring learning environment. Benchmarked by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the EAL program moves students through three stages of learning: EAL Intermediate, EAL Advanced, and EAL Higher Level.
Students in our program are encouraged to join afterschool clubs, sports teams, and arts (drama, musical theatre, and choir). It is through these experiences that EAL students gain more motivation to practice and use their newly acquired language skills.

EAL GRADUATE
Originally from South Korea, Jenny enrolled at Luther in the EAL program and went on to achieve university credit in her mainstream English literature classes, including IB level courses. After Luther College, she moved to Edmonton to study chemistry at the University of Alberta.
“The one-on-one teaching style of the EAL Higher Level program helped me develop confidence in both speaking and writing in English. If I had difficulty in writing assignments or had an inclass presentation coming up, I would go over them with my EAL teacher ahead of time. I liked how personalized the program was! Luther College High School is a great place not only for academic learning but also for making valuable friendships and connections.
I felt like Luther was more than just a school for me; it was a community. There are various opportunities such as L.I.T. and the All-College banquet for students to participate and contribute to fostering a welcoming environment for all. But it is also important to know that it’s all about putting yourself out there and participating in these different activities. It may feel awkward at first to be outside your comfort zone, but these are the moments that will help you grow as an individual.”
Our historic campus goes back to 1926 when the City of Regina as we know it today was still in its infancy. Located at 1500 Royal Street, our campus is located near the historic Government House and the RCMP Depot Training Academy.

Our boarding program helps students become mature, responsible, and independent young adults. Our dorm students live on our campus with all the safety and comforts of home. With access to an on-site school nurse and activities just for the dorm students, students are cared for both in the classroom and outside of it. A weekly and daily routine, personal support, and friendships are all included!
While dorm students have lots of activities just for them, they also fully participate in life at Luther with the day students, whether that is playing on the basketball team, or being the number one fan in the stands!

Our diverse student body is part of what makes Luther College High School so unique, and it’s one of our greatest strengths. Many of our students are born in countries other than Canada and now make Regina their home. To celebrate this diversity, one of our newest traditions is Multicultural Night, an evening planned by our student body to share music, food, and traditions from around the world. It’s just one of the ways our students learn about each other’s beliefs and values.
Students do not have to be Christian to attend Luther College, however, enrolment in one Christian Ethics class per year and daily attendance at Chapel is required. Chapel is a vital part of the Christian background of Luther College and features a variety of speakers from a multi-faith perspective. Students can reflect, broaden their understanding, be spiritually challenged or uplifted, and be entertained! Chapel gives students the opportunity to actively listen to both religious and non-religious viewpoints, to grow spiritually, and to think critically about why we hold the views we do.

Equally as important to our mission of academic excellence is our community of care.
Starting high school can be a daunting time, full of anxiety and worry about friends, fitting in, and finding your place as a young adult. Luther College has been around for over 100 years, and along the way, we’ve learned a thing or two about how to support and help our students in all aspects of their lives. We’re here to help you become a well-rounded and well-adjusted young adult.
“Luther’s
really diverse, and it’s nice to go to a place where you can connect with different people but also feel like you have your own community as well.”

STUDENT ATHLETE | CLASS OF 2025
Nathan is a Queen’s University basketball player and is pursuing Electrical Engineering through the Faculty of Applied Sciences.
“My greatest highlight while playing four years of basketball at Luther was in my senior year, I managed to score 98 points during the L.I.T. tournament despite not winning the tournament. I view this as an athletic highlight because I was able to effortlessly score against some of the best teams in Western Canada and really solidify my name in the Saskatchewan basketball scene. Luther athletics helped me tremendously in and out of the classroom as it taught me the skills of perseverance and committing to your goals even when they may not seem possible or things may be overwhelming. Learning to balance basketball at a high level and taking numerous IB classes was truly a blessing.”
Whether you love art, drama, film, music, or maybe a combination of any of those, Luther College High School is a place where your talents can shine!
We have a modern film studio and classroom, and offer courses where you can learn film history and theory, how to write a screenplay, and all the aspects of film editing and production! The school year is capped off with a Film Night open to the public where our student films take center stage.
If being on stage is more your thing, Luther College has been producing an annual musical for over 50 years! Our students are cast members, orchestra members, or part of the sound and stage crew.
We also offer drama, fine arts, band, and choir, and have a successful improv club that has gone on to national success in the Canadian Improv Games!

At Luther College High School, we believe that an investment in education is one of the best decisions you can make. You’re paying for a unique educational experience you won’t find in other high schools.
Tuition fees go directly to the operating budget of the school to provide an exceptional educational experience for your student. Tuition fees are reviewed annually. Through careful stewardship and fiscal planning, we do our best to keep tuition affordable. We offer payment plans and a family discount if you have more than one Luther student enrolled. As a school that provides religious instruction, the Canada Revenue Agency allows the College to provide a charitable tax receipt for a portion of the tuition paid each year.

New students can apply for entrance scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,300! If your student shows academic potential, community involvement, or abilities in arts and athletics, please apply!
We have over $75,000 in scholarships that you could be eligible for throughout your Luther education! Awarded to students for their abilities, characteristics, and achievements, you could receive anywhere from $200 to $3,000 in scholarships to be applied to your next year’s tuition or your post-secondary education.
We’re committed to offering bursaries to help ensure that students have access to a Luther education regardless of financial circumstances. Luther College provides approximately $700,000 in bursaries each year to approximately 20% of our students. This is made possible through generous donations from the Luther community. Bursaries are based on financial need, and cover tuition costs (or a portion of tuition) and some also cover fees like dorms and bus plans.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Luther College High School offers a bursary specifically for Indigenous students, the Kramer Family Bursary.
