ableware International’s Awards of Excellence are back for another year. In celebration of the excellence and innovation displayed in tableware, each year we invite tabletop suppliers, brands, companies and factories to enter tableware collections and products into our 2026 awards. There are 13 product categories, along with an Outstanding Contribution Award and a Designer of the Year award. Our international panel of experts, including buyers, judge the entries across all categories using the following criteria: design, innovation, aesthetics, storytelling. Each year the awards offer a snapshot into the industry covering a variety of categories including: serveware, barware, flatware/cutlery, casual glassware, fine glassware, decorative, coffee/ teaware, hospitality dinnerware, hospitality glassware, casual dinnerware, fine dinnerware, innovation award, sustainability, designer of the year and the outstanding contribution award. We host these awards because we really feel it is important to support the companies who continuously deliver new collections and products in what is undoubtedly a difficult trading environment. We are so thankful for your support and your tenacity.

But equally, we must pay special thanks to our panel of judges – it is not an easy task being asked to judge these awards and we could not do it without your time and effort. And while we at Tableware International cannot control who enters, what we can do is ask industry professionals to help us honour the most deserving winners. Our judges do not get paid for their time or contributions – they do this for the love of the industry and because they see value in honouring the brands who are out there, in really challenging trading environments, doing their utmost to deliver. So thank you to our panel of judges – we really appreciate you all. Finally, to our award sponsors; Ambiente, Decorium, SACMI, IHA, Shoppe Objet, ANDMORE, Crystalex, Zuchex, Lucideon, Kerajet, NY Now and Arc – thank you for your unending support and commitment to the industry. And with that, many congratulations to our deserving finalists, we are so excited to meet you all at the awards which are being held on Sunday, 8 February from 5.45pm in the Hospitality Academy, Hall 11.0, North Foyer.

AND THE FINALISTS ARE…

NARUMI CORPORATION

Pave

Collection is crafted in bone china (thin, light and durable).

Pave’s design style is celebrated for its intricate, diamond-like sparkle

This luxurious collection features a shimmering pattern that pairs gracefully with its softly rounded coupe shape, enhancing both the presentation of dishes and the overall dining experience. The delicately textured surface captures and reflects light from every angle, creating a subtle sense of movement and brilliance that enlivens the table.

“Shimmering yet tailored, the sparkle of the halo-like design surrounding the coupe shape enlivens the plate while focusing attention on the food’s presentation”

Designed to complement both private and public spaces, the collection transforms any environment into a refined, inviting setting. The interplay of light on the patterned surface, together with the collection’s harmonious forms, engages the senses and enriches the experience of both diners and guests.

Available in two exquisite hues—Pavé Blue Topaz, with its cool, sophisticated tone, and Pavé Topaz Gold, warm and opulent—each colour offers a distinct personality while sharing the collection’s radiant charm. Together, they create a versatile, luminous ensemble that elevates the table and leaves a lasting impression.

FINE DINNERWARE

Rosenthal GmbH

Sonetto

Category Sponsor

Our panel says:

“With all the flair and finesse of classic gold-banded china, but with a twist. The deep, floral-like wells centered in the plates and bowls transform them into a canvas for home cooks to take their food presentation to a whole next level”

“Sonetto”, Italian for “the sonnet”, is the oldest form of Italian poetry, a melodically recited poem. Rosenthal has created a true poem in porcelain with this new collection. Instead of verses and stanzas, the new line features organic and floral shapes as well as a variety of materials. Culinary highlights can be tastefully presented on different levels. The Sonetto plates play with highs and lows and trompe-l’oeil effects. A raised flower-shaped mirror, for

example, places the very finest dishes on a pedestal. Floral shapes are also used in the various bowls, cups and plates, whether in the outer shape or in small details such as the handles of the cups. The collection is based on simple white glazes, some glossy, some matt. Gold rims add an elegant accentuation. Meanwhile, rough, handmade-style bowls, jugs and small containers with or without lids, robustly shaped from stoneware, skilfully contrast with

the delicate porcelain items.

A small flat porcelain plate costs from €14 (RRP), and a small stoneware creamer costs €20 (RRP) at retail. From the Rosenthal Creative Center, a new concept of presenting dishes on higher and lower levels.

This approach is not only for fine dining but also for B2C clients at home. Sonetto is very mixable due to various materials and articles. Winner of a German Design Award 2025.

FINE DINNERWARE

SCHÖNWALD

The KUMO collection by SCHÖNWALD contains nine pieces made from finest noble china and a maple plateau in the same design. The surface of the porcelain is partly sandblasted to recreate the same pattern on the round pieces that you can see on the amorph shaped items.

The design was created in collaboration with the Berlin-based designer Claudia Schoemig, whose signature style is clearly recognisable in the objects. The name KUMO means cloud in Japanese and indicates where the collection took its inspiration and what emotions it wants to convey. The shapes themselves are based on traditional craft techniques, which were then translated into the modern design.

KUMO is more than just tableware - its a statement. The presentation of dishes is becoming increasingly minimalist and purist, but the high standards of technique and flavour remain unchanged. KUMO embodies this contemporary vision and sets a new

Our panel says:

“Deceptively sophisticated, the partially sandblasted porcelain offers an understated yet impressive design innovation, while the purist shapes serve food with drama and panache"

standard for fine dining - both in terms of design and culinary experience.

Designed for visually and culinarydemanding guests and chefs, the versatile range of items covers the entire menu from amuse-bouche to dessert, offering a harmonious interplay of round, extraordinary, and novel amorphous shapes. The matte surfaces in the collection are a unifying design element that elegantly brings together the round with the amorphous items. Continuing the complex impression of the design, the matte surfaces add a sensory effect to the dining experience, rounding out the unique collection designed in collaboration with Claudia Schoemig.

Today, it’s valued by collectors and restaurants alike, as it is full of life and joy. Available in several colours, forms and sizes, Puebla is the perfect canvas to bring the extra spark to any table.

Rooted in the landscapes, stories, and artistry of Mexico, Puebla is a celebration of craft and culture expressed through vibrant color and high-fired stoneware. Each piece begins as raw earth, shaped by skilled hands and guided by intuition— then transformed through fire into a design that feels both timeless and joyfully alive.

Our panel says:
“The bold pattern and the bright colours just make me happy”

Puebla’s story at Anfora stretches back to 1930, when its first motifs were hand-painted by true artisans in the Mexico City factory. Its name honors the historic city of Puebla, where Talavera ceramics—brought from the Far East to New Spain—blossomed into a distinctive art form defined by deep cobalt blues and rhythmic brushwork. The Puebla pattern draws from this lineage while embracing the expressive spirit of Mexican folk art. Early versions depicted not only the iconic palomas (doves), but also deer, bees, flamingos, and other creatures that animated its central medallions, creating a lively visual language of nature and celebration.

What makes Puebla endure is the harmony at its core: spontaneous brushstrokes paired with deliberate symmetry, bold movement balanced by inviting familiarity. The result is a pattern that feels instantly classic

yet radiates modern vibrancy—a design that resonates as deeply in contemporary restaurants as it does in family homes and collectors’ cabinets around the world.

Crafted for today’s table, every piece in the collection meets the highest foodservice standards. Durable, dishwasher- and microwave-safe, and protected by a long-lasting glaze, Puebla is made to be used—joyfully and often. Its purpose is not preservation behind glass, it is the daily gathering, cooking, serving, and sharing.

At its heart, Puebla carries the warmth inherent in Mexican hospitality. More than tableware, it is an invitation: to connect, to celebrate color, to welcome tradition into the everyday. In Puebla, technique meets heritage, and function becomes art—bringing authenticity, emotion, and story to every table it touches.

The collection is offered in seven striking colors: Blue, Purple, Gold, Silver, Green, Red, and Emerald, each designed to capture the shimmering, metallic-like brilliance that Lin Japan is known for.

Inspired by the theme “Brilliance in Everyday Life,” the collection draws from traditional Arita porcelain techniques while incorporating modern glazing methods to achieve a luminous, reflective finish. The angular and rounded forms were carefully designed for versatility — they can be displayed tilted or placed solidly, allowing the brilliance of Lin Japan to be appreciated from multiple perspectives.

Each piece is handcrafted by skilled artisans using innovative firing and glazing processes that take advantage of light and reflection, creating a dynamic visual effect. The collection pays homage to the brand founder’s great-grandfather, Rinzo Kaneko, a celebrated early-20th-century porcelain painter. This vase is designed to bring the luminous brilliance of Lin Japan (Lin) into everyday interiors. The Glass Game: A Story of Scandinavian Elegance

In the heart of Sweden, where winter light refracts through crystalline landscapes, a masterpiece emerges—crafted not for mere play, but for reverence. The Orrefors x JAY3LLE Chess Set is more than a game; it is a dialogue between art and intellect, tradition and modernity. Every square of its board is a testament to precision—64 pieces of clear and black glass, cut and polished by artisans whose craft has been honed for generations at the historic Kosta Glassworks. Here, glass is not just material; it is memory, molded by fire and perfected by hand.

The pieces themselves are sculptures—minimalist yet commanding, their silhouettes echoing the stark beauty of Scandinavian Noir. Encased in a black-stained oak chest lined with felt, the set rests like a treasure awaiting discovery. To lift its lid is to enter a world where luxury is quiet, deliberate, and eternal.

This is not a chessboard; it is an heirloom, a statement, a work of art destined for those who understand that true elegance is never loud—it whispers.

Vida Alegre by Martin Jarrie

Some people don’t know, but we are fortunate to live on a planet where life should only be joyful. Joyful because it is so complete. Rich in diverse animals that amaze us and stir feelings within us. Rich in flowers and fruits of a thousand colors, of sun, rain, and snow. Of sea and sand. Of valleys and mountains. Of people so different and so alike, all so full of possibilities and emotions.

When living beings interact, look at each other, surprising each other, doing good for each other... life becomes immense. It is filled with simple moments that mark us and that we revisit in a complicit warmth. And everything is described and transcribed in letters and numbers, which wander in our thoughts and are lost in memories.

In the symphony of life, it is always the first letter that sets the tone and inspires the rest of the orchestra... in a composition of words and stories and tales... one after another... together as it should be in the final note of a joyful whole... So let us celebrate! After all, we are actors and we are all the authors of this JOYFUL LIFE.

Sarah Linda SAS

Eros

Eros is Sarah-Linda’s new porcelain collection.

Named after the ancient Greek god of desire, Eros brings an ode to the senses and the timeless pleasures of the table. Merging classical references with contemporary aesthetics, this five-piece collection of sculptural bowls and cups draws its inspiration from the harmonious proportions of ancient Greek columns — reinterpreted with soft, flowing curves and refined sensuality. In Eros, designer Sarah-Linda Forrer wanted to create forms that stir the senses and textures that ask to be touched. Perfect tea and coffee, dessert en entrées, these are pieces meant not only to serve, but to be held and cherished. With their unglazed surface, the objects awaken a connection to the moment, to the materials, and to the pleasure of eating well.

As with her previous collections, she continues the handmade production in Limoges — the historic capital of French porcelain. Each piece is crafted with exceptional attention to detail by skilled artisans.

First drawn by hand, the forms are later transformed into 3D models. The models are 3D printed and polished, after which plaster moulds are made of each shape. Every piece of the collection consists of 2 parts, the cup and the foot. A mould is made of each part, and after casting they are carefully assembled by hand – forming elegant and delicate pieces. And as always, Sarah-Linda donates 1% of every sale to nonprofits working on soil regeneration through 1% For the Planet.

Eros is a thoughtful exploration of form, function, and narrative — combining design innovation, practical usability, and storytelling in a way that enhances the dining experience. At its core, Eros is a reimagining of the porcelain cup and bowl. Drawing inspiration from the harmonious proportions of ancient Greek columns, Sarah-Linda Forrer has translated classical references into soft, sensual forms that feel unmistakably modern. This unique interplay of past and present creates pieces that are at once timeless and forwardlooking — embodying design innovation in their ability to bridge history and contemporary culture. Each piece has been meticulously crafted with functionality in mind. The gentle curvature of the forms is not just aesthetic: it enhances the tactile experience, encouraging the user to hold, cradle, and engage with the object. The unglazed surface invites touch, creating a direct sensory connection to the material, while the proportions are optimized for tea, coffee, desserts, and entrées — balancing visual elegance with everyday usability.

Our panel says:

"Eternally elegant and, in this case, practical to hold, the idea of reimaging the look and fluted finish of classical columns on tableware vessels is truly standout"

SUSTAINABILITY

NARUMI CORPORATION

Eggshell Initiative

Narumi Corporation’s project is driven by the mission to “protect the dining tables of the future” and aims for environmentally conscious, sustainable manufacturing. This initiative began with the goal of effectively utilizing eggshells, a resource that had not been sufficiently leveraged by other industries, thereby contributing to the efficient use of resources and the reduction of environmental impact. They focused on the common element of “calcium”—specifically, calcium phosphate, one of the main raw materials for bone china, and calcium carbonate, which is abundant in eggshells. This commonality led to the research and development of using eggshells to replace 15% of the conventional bone china raw materials.

At NARUMI, sustainable manufacturing means pairing craft with innovation. This latest initiative turns eggshells into a valuable raw material.

Our panel says:

“The use of eggshells is particularly interesting and demonstrates a desire to reduce the environmental impact! Great marriage of sustainability and innovation!”

Eggs and bone china share a common element: calcium. NARUMI Bone China uses over 40% calcium phosphate (bone ash), while eggshells are composed of over 90% calcium carbonate. Applying decades of grinding and firing expertise from bone china production, we have turned eggshell byproducts into an upcycled material. They have already begun integrating it into the bone china body across their production line, and will gradually increase its share over time. This shift reduces reliance on conventional resources and supports a new line of business: producing and supplying eggshellderived calcium powder for use in tableware and beyond.

Vista Alegre Atlantis SA VITA

To bring your tables to life and make the most of every dish, it’s essential to choose a line that combines both simplicity and character, without sacrificing the perception of quality. The new Vita line, part of the Excellence range, fulfils this role perfectly, thanks to the biscuit porcelain on the edges of the plates, which gives them a matt tone in contrast to the glazed surface in the center, which is smooth and shiny.

This contrast is accentuated by the relief motifs in the biscuit, reminiscent of tree bark and giving a very organic texture to each piece, which, in their different dimensions and functionalities, harmonize with each other and with the most exquisite of dishes. The biscuit porcelain on the edges of the plates gives them a matt tone in contrast to the glazed surface in the center.
