Elisha Carson GENERAL MANAGER
As I wrap up my first week of having the privilege of being your General Manager, I am both energized and excited about the future. It has been a bit of a whirlwind, but an inspiring one. While I was already familiar with many of you through phone conversations and emails, it has been wonderful to start putting names with faces. I look forward to meeting many more of you in the coming weeks.
In speaking with families one-on-one, a common theme has emerged: our members truly love this club and the sense of community that comes with being part of it. Last night, I had the pleasure of attending our most popular event of the year, the annual Halloween Party. This event encapsulates the essence of what Laurel Creek means to so many of you, and I could not have been prouder of our team for creating such a magical evening for our youngest members.
Looking ahead, we are focused on the future and exploring ways to enhance both our facilities and the overall member experience. We are currently in the midst of budget season, which is the time when our Board, committees, and management team come together to turn ideas into reality. By the time I write my next update, I am confident that I will be able to share exciting plans for the coming year and beyond.
As I continue to settle into my new role, the most important ingredient for success is your feedback. You are what makes this club exceptional. Knowing what we’re doing well—and where we can improve—is invaluable to me. Please take a moment to complete the Happometers and surveys when they arrive. I assure you that every response is reviewed carefully, and your input truly helps guide our decisions.
I can also be reached by phone, email, or simply by stopping by my office anytime you have something on your mind. Thank you again for your trust in me to lead this remarkable club toward its highest potential.

Patty Fagan
DIRECTOR OF MEMBERSHIP
As we head into November, the pace of new memberships naturally slows down, which works out perfectly because it allows me to focus on all the incredible events happening this fall and winter. Laurel Creek truly shines this time of year, and our calendar is overflowing with festivities that remind us how special this community is.
We just wrapped up our annual Halloween Celebration, which welcomed more than 900 attendees this year. Each season it somehow gets even better. It is one of my favorite events to watch come to life because seeing families, friends, and even parents in costume brings so much joy and laughter throughout the Club.
Now we move right into Thanksgiving, Christmas, and of course our much-anticipated Fall Gala on Friday, November 14. You may remember that we had to cancel last year’s gala due to low turnout, but this year we are determined to bring it back in a big way. Our team puts so much heart into creating an elegant and memorable evening, and we would love to see as many members as possible there to celebrate with us. If you have ever been on the fence about attending, I encourage you to come join us. You will have a wonderful night, and your participation truly helps make events like this shine.
Before I sign off, I will add my usual reminder. If you have friends, colleagues, or family members who might love the Laurel Creek lifestyle, member referrals are the highest compliment you can give. Please do not hesitate to send them my way. I would be delighted to introduce them to our community.
Wishing everyone a joyful start to the holiday season,

Bob Hennefer
DIRECTOR OF GOLF
It’s hard to believe the golfing season is coming to a close! It has been a wonderful year, and we hope you enjoyed your time at the Club. We’ve already begun planning for 2026, and we can’t wait to share what’s ahead!
WINTER GOLF COURSE UPDATE: We will not be covering the greens with tarps! The greens will remain open and playable all winter long. No tarps, no temporary greens. We’ll be aerating the greens in mid-November, but play will continue throughout the winter.
To protect the fairways, beginning December 1st, all golfers will use a 12” x 18” turf mat for shots from the fairway. Mats will be provided on each cart, and walkers can attach one with a handle to their bag.
Use the mat for all shots from the fairway, including irons, hybrids, fairway woods, and greenside chips or pitches. Simply place the mat near your ball, move your ball onto it, and play your shot. If your ball is on a slope, move it to a flatter area, but you must still use the mat. Play the ball as it lies in all other areas, including rough and penalty zones.
All Par 3 tees will have larger mats installed on the Medal and Laurel tees, and mats are also in use at the Short Game Area. Please use them as required. This policy is mandatory for all members and guests; violations may result in warnings or suspension of playing privileges.
Before we officially wrap up the season, we still have two great events remaining: our Superintendent’s Revenge and our Annual Turkey Trot. Both are fantastic ways to enjoy a cool fall day on the course and cap off another memorable year of golf at Laurel Creek.
I want to extend my sincere thanks to all of you, our members and our staff, for your support and kindness throughout the summer during my time as Interim General Manager. I truly appreciate the opportunity. I want to congratulate Elisha on her new role, and I look forward to working alongside Elisha and the rest of our talented team as we continue to create lasting memories for you and your family.
A heartfelt thank you to our Golf Operations team: Brett, Matt, Glen, Ryan, and our Academy professionals, John Appleget and Dave Quinn. They are the driving force behind everything you experience on the course, and their dedication and passion are reflected in every detail of our golf operations.
A quick reminder that handicap posting season ends on November 14 and will resume on April 1. If you travel to a region where posting remains active, please continue to record your scores.
Congratulations to all of our 2025 Champions! We look forward to celebrating your accomplishments at our Champions Dinner on November 18. Be sure to also keep an eye out for our Black Friday and Holiday Pro Shop Sales. We’ll have some great deals waiting for you!
From all of us at Laurel Creek, we wish you a joyful, relaxing, and healthy holiday season. Be sure to stop by the shop in the coming weeks to complete your holiday shopping. We’d love to see you!

Ryan Reeves
DIRECTOR OF FOOD & BEVERAGE
As we reflect on the past year, it’s wonderful to consider all the great events and experiences we’ve shared at Laurel Creek. We’ve introduced some new and interesting events, like Deadly Details, which some members chose to walk out of due to its graphic nature. We’ve also continued with our tried-and-true events, like Halloween, which saw a huge turnout and was a fantastic celebration this year. We’ve been working to find the right balance between the number of large events we host annually and sprinkling in smaller gatherings to ensure the best attendance.
Some of our smaller events, such as Turkish lamp making, cooking demo classes, and cocktail classes, fill up very quickly, often within just a few hours on the app. Looking ahead to the new year, we plan to focus more on our themed pop-ups in Blu. These events have been hugely successful, and we receive great feedback from everyone.
This time of year, we hold an extensive departmental meeting to review our entire events schedule for the upcoming year. During this discussion, we plan and consider potential changes for our events. We also gather valuable input and ideas from our members through the Member Events Committee. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to these volunteers for their ongoing effort to improve the member experience here at Laurel Creek. Taking personal time to help foster this community of like-minded individuals is truly appreciated. I am excited to announce that we will be heavily focusing on a new and improved coffee program. If you’ve peeked into our open kitchen recently, you may have noticed a new station with beautiful cabinets and countertops. This area will house our new espresso machine and coffee station, where we will serve highquality, locally sourced La Colombe Coffee. This partnership aims to elevate our beverage
offerings, both on the coffee side and at the bar. In the near future, you can look forward to a new café menu that will perfectly complement our Laurel Creek desserts.
We’re also thrilled to announce that we are rebranding our LC Lager. This signature beer will be our new flag-ship brew. With the help of Double Nickel Brewing, we will relaunch the beer on an upcoming Friday night with a complimentary tasting for anyone interested in trying the new version. While it will still be a lager, we would love your input on naming this refreshed brew. If you have a name that reflects the spirit of the club, please send it to us. The chosen name will win a special prize!
Finally, we have many festive holiday events planned, including Peter Rabbit Tea, Thanksgiving celebrations, and our beloved Cookie Bakes. We hope to see you during these joyful festivities!

John Slade
DIRECTOR OF GOLF COURSE OPERATIONS
This time of year, we often have to delay the first tee times of the day due to frost. This brief video from the USGA explains why we must avoid both walking and driving on frosted turf:
USGA Frost Delays: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkoWWrHzuAg
While the video discusses the potential for damage to the short grass, even at rough height, cart traffic can severely injure the grass:

As always, our goal is to provide the best playing conditions for you. Protecting the health of the turf is obviously important in achieving this, and your patience is appreciated.
