Weāre looking forward to a vibrant and memorable end to the summer. Thank you for being a part of what makes this club such a special place.
See you at the club soon!

Is it just me or is this summer ļ¬ying by faster than ever? Weāre already in the ļ¬nal week of KE Camp and our Junior Golf & Tennis Academy, and while Iāll miss the buzz of activity from all the little ones running around, Iām so grateful for the joy they brought to the club. Thereās nothing quite like hearing giggles echo from the pool or seeing new friendships form on the courts. Itās a reminder that Laurel Creek is truly a place where all generations can make lifelong memories.
This past month has also brought a wave of new families to membership. I can honestly say that getting to know them is the best part of my job. I love meeting people during the application process, learning their stories, and then seeing them connect with others once they join. Watching new friendships blossom is a beautiful thing and itās what Laurel Creek is all about.
Speaking of beautiful things, Iām thrilled to share a little extra joy this month with the announcement of two very special arrivals to the Laurel Creek family:
⢠Remko Alexander Van den Hooff was born on April 28th, 2025, to proud parents Bert and Reagan. This is their ļ¬rst child and they are absolutely over the moon.
⢠Marin Grace OāBrien was born on May 30th, 2025 to loving parents Matt and Andrea. Marin is already adored by her big sister Kit, who will be turning 2 very soon.
Weāre so excited to watch these sweet little ones grow up at the club, and Iām happy to include their adorable photos on my page this month.
As August winds down, I hope youāll ļ¬nd a few more chances to soak up summer, whether itās a cocktail on the patio, a dip in the pool, or a round of twilight golf with friends. Fall will be here soon enough, but thereās still plenty of sunshine to enjoy. See you around the club!

Letās make August a strong ļ¬nish to the summer season. See you on the courts!
There is often confusion as to when a divot should be replaced, and when the sand mix should be used. In an effort to clear things up, letās keep it simple:
If your divot doesnāt explode, and has some bit of soil with it, please replace it.
There are many variables that come into play in determining if the divot will live or not. This obviously includes the weather, and the location (slope vs swale). However, even in the summer, thereās a decent chance that a replaced divot will survive.
Below you can see the divot on the right was replaced and has already knitted back in nicely. In contrast, the divot on the left is, to be kind, a real head-scratcher.

So save that sand mix for the times when your divot canāt be replaced. And please donāt get too fancy--weāve seen well intentioned players make a sandwich with a sprinkle of divot mix, the divot itself, and a bit more mix on top for good measure. Remember, more isnāt always better.
