Sessions Gym is a small fitness center in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The design intent for this gym was to emphasize the materiality and create spaces that could be multi-functional. The open floor plan allowed us to achieve this multi-functional aspect and the small space provided a welcome challenge where we were able to get creative and push the boundaries.

This 4 Story 3 Family home in Gramercy Park is a full gut renovation which was previously an artists home and studio as well as a bicycle shop on the ground floor. The building was completely redesigned on the interior, and this included minor demolition, new finishes, and a new 4th floor addition. This included a two bedroom apartment on the ground floor, a duplex on the front-most part of the building and a triplex on the back.
This townhouse in Greenwich Village is a redesign project of a 3 story single family home. The home included work on the basement and 1st to 3rd floor. This renovation included demolition of interior non-load bearing partitions, new kitchen, adjustments to the layouts on each floor, new finishes, new access stair on the rear yard and some minor structural work.

During my time as an intern at DS&F Architect P.C. I was able to work on multiple high-end commercial projects, such as Tiffany & Co and Hermes of Paris. The work shown here is specifically for Tiffany & Co. and this includes work on the storefront, signage, design development, store layout, developing standards and drafting construction details.

These Pool Canopies in Gardiner NY, are part of a larger residential single family home and weekend retreat. The first phase of this project was to design and build the pool and canopies on the property, prior to building the family home. These structures are the first 3D printed forms of this scale in the U.S., and the project was developed as a design build between Kushner Studios and Dshape Enterprises. The project won many awards and mentions, among them the Architizer A+ Awards for 3d Printing and Design.
This 5 story new building development in Jersey City, NJ, is a residential multi-dwelling project which began in 2015. The design includes 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, balconies on the front-most part of the building, bicycle parking and a habitable rooftop with trellises and views to NYC.

16 Minetta lane was originally a 3-story townhouse in Greenwich village; but most recently this project, which commenced in 2013, converted this building from a 3-story to a 5-story structure. It was designed as a family home for an architect, his wife and their twins. The building also houses two courtyard spaces, a basement designed for entertaining and a carriages house on the rear intended for guest use. The facade of this project is comprised of webbed steel pieces welded together and finished with glass. This provides ample light into the spaces and demonstrates the clear divide between the old and the new. The exterior is suppose to represent a more tree like earthly presence, with the use of wines wrapped on the steel and etched glass which mimic the cut bark of a tree. This 9 story multi-dwelling project is a residential complex in Jersey City, New Jersey. The Design concept had to do with creating an exterior curved envelope on the northern side , which is oriented towards journal square and New York City.
The unique shape of the building created a number of different units within. The first floor of this new development has commercial spaces, a lobby and some recreational areas, while the rest if the building has parking on the cellar, and a habitable rooftop deck.
Selma’s House was the home of Selma Heraldo, close friend and neighbor of famed American jazz musician, Louis Armstrong. Before her death Selma donated her house to the Louis Armstrong House Museum, with the intent to provide an axillary space for the organization, and support the museum in its mission. The House is a typical wood-framed colonial home, once clad at the exterior with wood shingles but now in vinyl siding. CTA Architects was brought onto this project with the goal of adapting the interior of Selma’s House to suit the needs of the growing Louis Armstrong organization. This included localized exterior repair, the addition of ADA accessibility, minor interior renovation, and reconfiguring the existing kitchen to provide a food preparation space for catering purposes. Due to current code requirements for changing the use of the house from residential to office space, a sprinkler system had to be installed, and all of the exterior walls needed to be retrofitted with fireproof insulation. ADA accessibility was the biggest challenge because the public sidewalk is about 6’-6” below the finished first floor level. The project is currently in the bidding phase.
The design for the addition at P.S. 105X is organized as a three-story bar building, with double-loaded end-lit corridors. It includes Kindergartens, Music & Art rooms at the first floor, and 1st thru 5th grade classrooms as well as Special Education classrooms at the second and third floor levels. Connection from the new addition to the existing building is provided at all levels. The lobby, located at grade, connects to the first-floor level by stair and elevator, and aligns with the existing building’s floor. The cafeteria at the basement is on grade and can be accessed from both the addition and the existing building and directly from the lobby. The mechanical rooms, custodian office, lockers and storage are located at the partially excavated cellar. The boiler room bulkhead provides an accessible connection to the existing building’s top floor, and a rooftop playground was proposed to be included atop the cafeteria.
As part of the work at CTA Architects, I was involved in numerous exterior restoration projects which included scope of work such as: Masonry/Stone Repairs, Shelf Angle and Lintel Replacement, Waterproofing and Roof Replacements, Sill Replacement, Terracotta Restoration, Sound Testing, Curtain Wall and Glass Repairs, Balcony Repairs, Parapet Rebuilding, Probing, and Local Law Façade Inspections. Shown herein are three distinct projects where exterior restoration took place, including one school and two residential buildings.
Roles & Responsibilities: Façade Inspections; Sound Testing; Drafting Field Reports; Construction Drawings and Specification Documents; Detailing; Construction Administration; City Approvals; Bidding; Communicating and Coordinating with Clients, Contractors, Consultants and Manufacturers; Review of shop drawings, Submittals, and RFIs; Performing Punch List Walkthroughs and close-out tasks.
Public School 224Q, located in Queens NY, required a redesign/upgrade of their existing locker rooms and bathrooms. This area of work currently serves the school’s existing recreational swimming pool. Therefore the scope of work for this locker room and bathroom upgrade consisted of the following: selective demolition and removals of interior non-load bearing partitions, removals of existing fixtures and equipment, removals of finishes, installation of new walls to accommodate the propsed layout, installation of new equipment and bathroom accessories, installation of new finishes, installation of new fixtures, installation of new furnishings, and an MEP upgrade to include new plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems.
The goal of this 8 week project was to provide a master-plan for a site in Haiti that would layout local infrastructural services, such as sanitation, water, energy, improved agriculture, and aid in economic development. The site developed was adjacent to Quisqueya Natural Park on Lake Azuéi in Fonds Parisian and included an Eco-industrial park, Eco-tourism facilities and settlements for local people.
This student project was designed and completed under the purview of professor Hilary Brown in the Masters of Sustainability in the Urban Environment Program.
After exploring sectional relationships of ground throughout the Lehman College campus, it was concluded that the most important sectional shifts are used as student gathering areas. These sectional differences allow the students to adopt a specific area as communal and this proved to be an interesting attribute of Lehman College.
Keeping this in mind I decided to place the proposal for new dormitories on the Northeastern side of the sports field, next to the Library. This area is unused but can serve as a major campus link, in-terms of movement and can allow for new programs based of student life.
This area has major changes in ground elevation similar to the rest of the campus and this is another key reason to place the dormitories in this area, so to adopt some of those interesting sectional differences that create student interactivity.

Scheme A is based off of the idea to activate the southern end of the campus.
The approach was to propose a division of spaces within the south which includes an upper plaza level that comes off of the main path, that can contain program underneath and looks over to a lower level plaza.
The arrangement also includes dormitories which can be Arranged in order to create communal spaces

The design concept for this redesign of The Harlem School of the Arts, focused on inward-facing volumes that create Interlocking programs. An open central space encourages Social interactions, while the facade and circulation emphasize interactions between the interior and the exterior.
This 3rd year architecture school project was developed as a Collaborative effort with the students of the art school providing their input at every turn, given that they were our Clients this helped develop a better understanding of how
Our design intent was to use this axis perpendicular to the “All Mans Land” as a tool for the way Gaza city and Israel can grow. The main idea behind it Was to emphasize the idea of production, distribution and consumption. Keeping in mind traditions of open air markets which exist in this area of Gaza which is Khan Younis, We decided to create communal areas/ nodes where important features come together. These plazas or “Incubators” hold important programs such as: educational centers, water treatment and research facilities, food processing facilities
The primary goal of this project is to create a cultural and recreational public space. The building is to function as a binding agent between park and residential. To provide more growth to the community in the areas of arts, sports (health), and the environment. The main idea of this exploration can be summed up in two words.; Community outreach. Reaching out to the community and allowing them to learn, gather and be active, with the end goal of enhancing the surrounding environment, people and culture.
With the importance of the park and the areas history it became clear that the building should also function as a visitors center that would hold all the information on the park and the community. The site is located in one of NYC’s highest peaks. The importance of the slope allowed for the development of a concept, which spoke to the many changes in elevation, and thus having the community inhabit these different planes of public function.

The following projects were case studies and precedents which were investigated prior to the start of other academic projects whilst I attended my undergraduate architecture program. These series of case studies involved drawing, drafting, model making, research, collaging, and diagramming as tools of investigation and methods of understanding concept, form and constructibility.
Some of these precedents included, but are not limited to: The Underground Spa by Carmody and Groarke as seen to the right, the double house by MVRDV, Villa La Roche by Le Corbusier, and Bornhuetter Hall by Ltl Architects.

The following projects are additional and extracurricular works completed during and prior to my undergraduate degree in architecture. The projects include abstract models which represent path, place and threshold, as well as a collection of drawings, 2D ink Design, work with plaster cement, collage, massing models, site models and photography.
