The stochastic and random wind nature makes the entire wind energy conversion system (WECS) highly intermittent.
To achieve the maximum amount of wind energy, an advanced control technique is required. In such a scenario, the controller
aims to maximize power extraction. The aim of this research is to extract the maximum amount of energy from the generator by
tracking the generator reference speed. This paper presents a nonlinear fractional integral terminal sliding mode control
technique for the extraction of maximum power. The simulation results show the method is simple and has high precision of
control, and the system has good characteristics in steady state and during transients with permanent magnet synchronous
