The FL A G Program was founded in 2010, and there are FL A G Clubs in over 75 schools across North Texas and Arizona FL A G stands for Fly, Lower, And Gather, and the program was created to instill pride and respect among students towards the United States and State Flags Students are held accountable for the proper Flying, Lowering, And Gathering of the United States and State Flag during the school year
The program’s founder, Jim Rodriguez, who lives in Dallas, is a Retired Master Sergeant (E-7), having served for 21 years in the United States Air Force He came to the board meeting to present the following students with a
Citizenship Award: Catelyn Armstrong, Cierra Brussow, Jazlyn Dilone, Kayley Laubhan, Gracie Max, Madison Morrow, Taylor
Reynolds, Jenna Roper, Haven Sturgess, Aixalee Vazquez, Davian Williams, Mia Wilson, and Kara Wimbish
To earn this award, the students helped raise and lower the flag at school, learned how to properly fold a US and Texas flag, took a test over 45 facts about the US flag, presidents, and patriotic organizations, and stuck with the program – even through our firstyear growing pains – all year
The students want to continue this program and will be having fundraisers this summer to raise money for t-shirts Watch the Enterprise and the sign outside the library for information on car washes and bake sales so that you can do your part to support the FL A G Program here in Howe n and that it makes it even special due to the amazing spiring teachers surrounding her on the high school campus
