Wilson says that even though the high school is being honored for their distinctions, it's a cumulative process where the recognition should also be shared district-wide. “Earning one or more campus distinctions is noteworthy and should be a source of pride in a community,” said Commissioner of Education Mike Morath. “Earning all possible distinctions is a significant accomplishment and should signal to parents that there is extraordinary work taking place on that campus.” Other surrounding schools that received the distinction were Bells Elementary, Denison High School, Mayes Elementary (Denison), and Pottsboro High School.
