“We are human, but we’re not waging war in the flesh as humans do. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God’s power to destroy strongholds, arguments and every proud opinion that exalts itself against the true knowledge of God, and bringing every thought captive to obey Christ,” 2 Corinthians 10:3–5.
Monday, September 14, 2015 opposite from the truth is a lie. The Devil’s job is to disrupt the truth of God by convincing us to believe a lie and to set up deceitful strongholds in our minds. “You will not certainly die’ the serpent said to the woman,” Genesis 3:4. The devil started manipulating God’s word with the first humans and hasn’t stopped yet. He uses our own weaknesses to do that. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like god, knowing good and evil,” Genesis 3:5. The devil sees the desire in all of us to have our own way. We are born ready to make our own rules. We want what we want and when we want it. Our biggest weakness is selfcenteredness. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17. It’s only through Jesus that we can give up our selfishness. Emotions may be a byproduct from your environment but victory is knowing who you are in Christ. You are not your old sinful self any longer. You literally are a new creation in the same body. Your past is your past and your future is set in the love of Jesus. Psychology teaches you to blame anyone but yourself for your problems. Jesus teaches to humble yourself, take your own thoughts captive and renew your thinking to agree with God. God says very clearly we choose what we think. Psychology says nothing is your fault including your emotions, thoughts or actions. You cannot change what is out of your control. God is clearly saying our thoughts are in our control to dwell on or to take captive and obey Him. We are not animals and before every action there is a thought and then a decision to act on it. “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect,” Romans 12:2. Christians should act and look different to the world because we are different than the world. If you truly believe who Christ says you are it will change your thinking…which changes your actions.
Our thoughts need to change to agree with Christ. As Christians, our weapons are reading the Bible and Godly teachings, meditating on God’s word, speaking God's word aloud, singing and listening to praise and worship music and just saying the name of Jesus. As we focus more on Jesus, our wrong thoughts will soon decrease, because we're re-aligning our thinking to God’s thinking. We have to actively stop ourselves from dwelling on negative and wrong thinking and purposely fill our minds with Godly things. These are the weapons of our warfare and by doing these things we pull down the strongholds in our thought lives. A stronghold is a mental argument that you believe that contradicts the power of Christ. A stronghold keeps you from your full potential. It’s more than a habit or hang-up. It is wrong self-talk. God is truth and His purpose for coming to this world is to transform us so we Who are you to disagree with your could live in His truth. The

You have “been set free from the law of sin and death” says Romans 8: 2 and that you are “an heir with Christ,” in Romans 8:17. “Christ accepts you,” in Romans 15:7. You have “wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption, in Christ Jesus,” in 1 Corinthians 1:30 and you are “the righteousness of God,” in 2 Corinthians 5:21. He means what He says about you.
