e are living in uncertain days, perhaps now more than ever before. It is hard to think about raising children in a world full of turmoil and unrest. My husband and I have two young boys, ages 7 and 2, and we often wonder if we are doing enough to teach our boys what they need to know to survive in such a time.

Father who is. He is still on His throne, and He remains in control. God promises to always take care of His children. We know that our boys are ours only for a short time, and they are ultimately God’s children, but while we are on this earth, we must do our part to teach them to be Christlike. Proverbs 22:6 instructs us to “train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” We can have hope for our children’s futures if we teach them to be followers of Christ. As parents, we are thankful for the time we have with our children, and we can have confidence that, with the help of the Lord, we can raise them to be Godfearing, Christian men and women, even though the world will be against them. After all, if God is for us, who can be against us? We all know that parenting is not always easy, but we can always cast our cares, frustrations, and uncertainties on Him because His yoke is easy and His burden is light. The good news is, in the midst of all the madness, we can find peace and rest in an unwavering Lord. Like the old song says, “… because He lives, I can face tomorrow; because He lives, all fear is gone.” What a wonderful, blessed assurance that is.
