Yesterday, we saw the devastation of the train derailment when the Tempe Town Bridge collapsed under a freight train. Fortunately, no one lost their lives and injuries were minor. As I watched the news, my thoughts were that although it is an historic bridge, it is not very tall as bridges go. Yet even at that, I’m thinking that bringing it all the way down or repairing it will take people willing to work way above ground — or in this case — water level. This caused me to remember a fact about the building of the Golden Gate Bridge. When the Golden Gate bridge was being built in San Francisco, a number of workers lost their lives by falling from precariously high positions. As a result, the work proceeded slowly until someone hit on the idea of building a net under the construction area so that when a workman fell, he would not fall to his death but would be caught by the net.

How can you help??? YOU CAN PRAY!! It’s that time of year! Prescott Valley Schools begin Monday, August 3 … virtually. Please pray for our Good News Club School, Granville Elementary — pray for the staff, students, teachers, and parents as they all must adjust to this new way of doing things. Many Granville children made decisions to believe in Jesus last year — please pray that His Spirit will be their comfort in uncertainty. Pray for them to remember that “He will never leave you” and “The Lord is my helper” Hebrews 13. Pray that they will have good understanding of the material and have a good work ethic.

A giant safety net was developed at a cost of $100,000. This was the first time something like this was used at a construction site. With the security of the net below them, men were able to move about at a faster pace because they knew that if they fell their lives would be spared. With the security of the net below them, they could work without the dread of uncertainty. We may not be able to see the net below us, but it's there. Our security comes from a loving, all-powerful God who protects us every step of the way. That’s why King David wrote the words of Psalm 16:8. We really have no other choice than to place our trust in God. Not just in the bad — but in all situations. God never fails. He can always be trusted. He will never let us down. I pray you are all safe and well. You will see in our ReEmerge Update that we will not have In-Person Worship for at least the next two Sundays. I hope to see you on our Livestream Worship where I will share on the truth that we must TRUST GOD. Blessings Pastor Terrell P.S. With the change in our In-Person Worship schedule, we will not celebrate the Lord’s Supper until August 16th. You may still pick up the elements at the church office anytime during office hours.
