Is this really true? How many times have you asked that question out loud — or thought it, but did not want to appear uniformed? I think we have all done both more times than we can remember. Here are a few things you may ask that question of today. Is there really a locust plague of Biblical proportions in parts of our world today? Are there “mini-face masks” for insects? Is it getting harder and harder to social distance in low-space? Is there such a thing as “Touch Starvation?” Will we get back soon to live worship here at First Southern? Is God in control of coronavirus? The quick answer to all these questions is YES!

From parts of Africa, through Pakistan, and into India — locusts are decimating crops. In Pakistan, the government is paying by the pound for dead locusts. That’s a unique solution to unemployment! A Russian artist is making miniature face masks for insects and small animals like crabs. I guess we could call them “Quarantinis!” Over 900,000 objects of “Space Junk” are orbiting the earth in low-space. So much so that it is being proposed that satellites be taxed. I’d like to see them collecting those taxes. “Touch Starvation” is not new but has certainly been exasperated in the Stay-atHome quarantine we have been going through. The lack of physical touch — tactile touch — causes serious problems. God made us to touch and be touched by others. Though it may not be safe to touch others right now, we all need the stimulation we receive when we are around others. We also need to be active physically. If you are just sitting in front of your T.V. day after day — my pastoral advise to you is knock it off! Get up and move. Do something that will stimulate you. Don’t social distance yourself into physical, emotional and spiritual problems.
