While deciding on the direction my writing would take, I remembered an email that our own John Clark sent out on this past Monday. I liked what he wrote better than what I was thinking, so with his permission — what follows is part of the story on John and Peggy Clark:

You would think that after 70 Valentines you might remember one that was extra special.
SUNDAY SCHEDULE
They have all been “special”; however, a certain night had a more significant impact than any February 14th.
• Sunday School -
I met Peggy one evening when I went over to get my friend Pat Riley to do something or another. Peg opened the door and said her brother was in the shower so come on in and wait for him. I had seen her around; but didn’t know her name. Usually I was very shy around girls; but found her easy to talk to and looking at her wasn’t bad either. She played some “Ink Spot” records for me as we got to know each other a little. I had gone over to get Pat several times and visited with her; then, I started going over “to see Pat” when I knew he wasn’t there. Devious? Yep, but it worked. One problem, Peg had an older boyfriend who would drop his car off for her to drive to school. Then, he walked to his job a couple of blocks away.
