Communion What are You Expecting? 1 Corinthians 11:23-33

with Pastor Terrell

Until further notice,

“Now listen, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.’ Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, ‘If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.’ As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.” ~ James 4:13-17 (NIV) ~

we will be having Family Services.

Not to be morbid, but what would you do if you knew you had only one week to live? Would you go away? Would you go home? Would you do some last-minute sinning, or some last-minute repenting? Would you be sad? Angry? Hopeful? Afraid? How would you spend those final hours? “… Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love.” ~ John 13:1 (NIV) ~ When Jesus had one week to live, he chose to wash his disciples’ feet. He did the work of a common slave, ministering to those who were closest to him.  He washed their feet. (John 13)  He comforted them. (John 14)  He encouraged them. (John 15-16)  He prayed for them. (John 17)  And then he died for them. (John 18-19) continued …
