If you are missing the Christmas lights and festive cheer, January can seem like a gloomy month with broken resolutions, fad diets and miserable weather to look forward to. @familiestveMag It can however, also be a time for a fresh start or to focus on staying healthy and happy. This issue we offer some suggestions for resolutions that might actually stick (pp.19-20), suggest ways to help your child prepare for upcoming exams (p.9) and offer tips for lightening the mental load (p.14) as well as showing how to help a young but anxious or overwhelmed child (pp.12-13). Although January and February can feel like quieter months, our regular What’s on Guide on pp.16-18 picks out the best family events and activities to join locally. All that's left is to wish you all a very happy and healthy 2026. We are going to fully embrace our decluttered living rooms - is it just us or does removing the Christmas tree seem to create so much extra space?
