MEET THE STAFF OF
SWANSON ELEMENTARY BRANDON BUCHMANN
PRINCIPAL Welcome to Swanson Elementary! I’m Brandon Buchmann, and I am humbled and honored to serve as Principal here at Swanson! Since starting at Swanson in 2025, I have seen our learning community be home to thoughtful and dedicated educators, hard working and caring learners, and supportive families. Together, we all partner to ensure that our Eagles soar! I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Education from UW-Oshkosh (2010) and a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Principal Licensure from Carroll University in 2018. I spent the first eight years of my career as an educator teaching fifth or sixth grade in the Kimberly and Franklin School Districts. I then served three years as a Teaching & Learning Specialist for Pilgrim Park Middle School and four years as the Associate Principal of Wisconsin Hills Middle School. At Swanson, we believe that all students can achieve great things in school and life. We believe that strong relationships and a sense of belonging are the foundation for student success. Our staff is committed to forming powerful connections with each student and their families. Those connections lead to classrooms where students feel safe, welcomed, and engaged. Our educators strive to foster a love of learning that will positively impact our learners throughout their lives. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching my sons’ baseball and basketball teams, and cheering on our Wisconsin sports teams!
LINDY DESJARLIS
ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL Hello, I’m Lindy DesJarlais, and I am honored to serve as the Associate Principal at Swanson Elementary since 2024! I love collaborating with both students and staff to foster growth and development in future generations. Building a warm, positive, and engaging learning environment for all is at the heart of everything we do at Swanson. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Communications Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and later completed my education certification at Carroll University. I received my administrative degree from Nova Southeastern University. Prior to this role, I spent 18 years teaching in Milwaukee, Las Vegas, and here in Elmbrook. At Swanson, you’ll feel the vibrant, welcoming spirit of our school community from the moment you walk through the doors. Our staff fosters kindness, enthusiasm, and a deep sense of care for every student. By building strong, supportive relationships, they create a space where learning is not only meaningful but also enjoyable. Outside of school, I’m proud to be an Elmbrook parent with three children at all three school levels. I love cooking, reading, working out, and cheering on all things Wisconsin sports. I’m also proud to have been recognized as the National Social Studies Teacher of the Year in Nevada. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the Swanson community and look forward to partnering with families, staff, and students to make every day one of growth, learning, and joy!
