PLANNING FOR OUR FUTURE WHY ELMBROOK IS DEVELOPING A PROACTIVE 20-YEAR FACILITIES PLAN The Elmbrook Board of Education has a strong history of responsibly maintaining and updating our community schools. With more than $5 million dedicated annually for capital maintenance and facility improvements from our District operating budget, we have plans to invest $70 million over the next ten years for needed maintenance and repairs as we continue to address future needs and avoid costly emergency repairs.

To proactively address these significant needs and steward standards of safety, responsibility, and academic flexibility in our community schools for the next generation, the Board has embarked upon a comprehensive 20-Year Facilities Plan review. This long-term strategy allows us to consider complex and necessary improvements that will serve current and future Elmbrook students in the most fiscally responsible manner. The Board of Education and District staff are currently studying the specific needs in each of our schools and options to address those needs, and we encourage you to be part of the process.

The District's rating score of 89 is the third highest of 4K-12th grade districts in the state with a student population of over 2,500, based on 2024-25 school year data. Elmbrook is one of only three school districts to earn the highest rating each year the State Report Cards have been issued.
Additionally, all of the District's schools received classification of "significantly exceeds" expectations, the highest rating. This is the first time since school report cards were issued that all nine schools achieved the highest report card rating. The state report cards include outcomes for each school in four priority areas: Student Achievement, Student Growth, Target Group Outcomes, and On-Track to Graduation. Based on a combined score in each of these four areas, scores and ratings are determined for every publicly funded school and district in Wisconsin, as well as many private schools participating in the Private School Choice Program.

BROOKFIELD EAST GRADUATE NAMED PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLAR Shilpa Kumar (BEHS ‘25), is the seventh Elmbrook student to be named a Presidential Scholar for the state of Wisconsin since 2017.

22 ELMBROOK NATIONAL MERIT SEMIFINALISTS FOR 2026 Recognition for this achievement is based on a student’s performance and their state and national rank on the PSAT exam.
FALL SPORTS STAND OUT AT STATE Elmbrook student-athletes delivered an exceptional fall season, highlighted by a group of WIAA team state qualifiers. Brookfield Central qualified in boys volleyball, boys soccer, boys cross country, and girls cross country, while Brookfield East advanced its boys soccer team to state as well. These accomplishments reflect the depth and competitiveness across the district. CAROLINE WANEZEK (BEHS ‘26) WIAA Division 1 Girls Swim 100-Yard Butterfly Champion
Senior Caroline Wanezek claimed the WIAA Division 1 state championship in the 100-yard Butterfly and contributed to top relay finishes and a strong team showing. On the courts, the Brookfield East girls tennis team secured its second consecutive state championship, led by senior Caroline Raster’s undefeated run to the individual singles title and a deep roster that powered through the competition. Rounding out the season’s highlights, East’s Payton Haugen shattered the state record and set a national benchmark on her way to winning the WIAA Girls Golf individual title. The win showcased her composure and skill, finishing at twelve under par (-12) with a score of 132. This score beat her previously held state record of six under par (-6) with 138 strokes and helped lead her team to a second place finish.

POWERS FUTURE HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS Elmbrook’s LAUNCH program offers juniors and seniors 12 career-focused pathways, blending classroom learning with real-world experiences and professional partnerships. This year, the Medicine & Healthcare strand opened a new education space at Ascension Elmbrook Hospital’s Pavlic Center, immersing students in an authentic medical environment. “From the moment our students enter the parking lot, they know they’re surrounded by patients and professionals,” said LAUNCH teacher Emily Barmantje. Since its launch in 2019, the strand has built a strong pipeline for future healthcare workers, including a dedicated Medical Lab at Brookfield East, dual-credit courses through WCTC, and the opportunity to earn a CNA license before graduation. At ProHealth’s Brookfield Regency Senior Community, students like BEHS junior Lauren Schmidt engage with residents twice weekly. “It’s been rewarding to connect with residents and make a difference,” she said.

FAIRVIEW SOUTH CELEBRATES RENOVATION Fairview South School celebrated its grand reopening on September 26, highlighting a $3.4 million renovation that created brighter, more functional, and accessible learning spaces. The project also expanded the Seeds of Tomorrow Hydroponic Lettuce program, which supplies fresh produce for district meals and provides hands-on learning for students across the District.
