Welcome to Greenways Academy!
Greenways Academy was founded in 1996 to help students who were not thriving in their current academic environment for any number of reasons. The goal was, and continues to be, to provide a safe and simple environment for them to learn.
Greenways Academy in St. Louis is a local, private, alternative, and accredited middle school and high school offering access to the best interactive online education in the context of a personalized learning environment. With a flexible schedule, we help students achieve their academic goals ranging from credit recovery, pursuing new elective courses, career exploration, or completing secondary education.
We have a 100% graduation rate, with 99% of our graduates going to college.
Working with our partner tutoring firms at campuses around the country, we replicate the learning environment of our St. Louis learning center to provide personalized learning.
Via the internet, Greenways can offer our accredited curriculum to individual learners around the country or around the world.
Greenways also partners with existing middle and high schools to give students additional educational opportunities including expanded curriculum choices and providing struggling students another way to learn. Educate - Motivate - Graduate is our mission statement, and our passion.
Students with Individualized Education Programs (IEP), 504 Plans, or those who simply need a flexible schedule due to sports or special interest commitments can excel in the Greenways setting. Our dedicated teachers help each student find confidence and achieve success in their coursework.
The freedom of 1:1 learning allows teachers to dedicate more time to those subjects and topics that need greater discussion, examples, and time for experiential learning, while allowing each student the freedom to move quickly through areas of mastery.
Our electives are unmatched - with hundreds of electives and 25 languages, our online courses are tailored to the budding scientist, mathematician, art historian, game designer, or international businessperson.
Looking for a specific unique course and don’t see it? We can find it and are regularly adding to our curriculum based on our students’ interests and passions. Internships to gain real-world experience can be done outside of Greenways for credit as well.
Whether you are looking for summer courses, are finishing up a quarter or semester, we welcome all students who are looking for a new alternative that fits their life.
If you know a student or are a student who might be interested in Greenways Academy, please call us or email us with any questions.

Greenways Features & Benefits

Family Communications
Students and parents are invited to meet with the team in multiple venues (study hall, math lab, principal meetings, etc.). Parents and students receive weekly progress updates based exclusively on academics.

Differentiated Instruction
We have designed classes to meet the differentiated needs of students to facilitate success. Students in need of interventions are often given the same Home Room teacher in all core areas. This allows us to monitor the student in all areas and provide feedback, encouragement and support multiple times a week.

House Meetings
House meetings kick-off the day with lessons taught live in the areas of life/home skills, money matters, social-emotional learning (SEL), and college and career readiness. Our intervention team members do a “jump start” with students who attend the house meetings to check-in individually with students.

Study Hall and Office Hours
Study Hall (is an open virtual classroom) with an educator on hand to answer immediate questions and facilitate learning. It provides a place where students can (in-person) ask quick questions, or simply work together online.

Attendance Reporting
Aside from the requirements of communication as an indicator of attendance for reporting purposes, contact with the school on a regular basis is the number one way we can connect to remind and encourage students to complete work. Some states have attendance and communication requirements. Some states expect daily attendance.

Parent & Principal Connection
Aside from the requirements of student communication, we believe parents need a place to go to build community and create relationships. We allow families that space to nurture their curiosity of their fellow families as well as learn new skills to enhance online learning.

Academic Success
Our Intervention Team monitors information related to attendance / communication, progress, and academic success. Parent contact, phone calls, meetings with the staff, etc. are all strategies utilized to prompt students to get on-track and remain successful.
At the K-8 level, pacing and grades are the best indicators for future completion of classes and moving successfully through the grade levels. At the high school level, we add the component of earning credits.
