Wellness facility to be built in Monument Company will take new approach to healthcare Penrose-St. Francis Health Services and the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region have announced a collaboration, along with developer, The Boldt Co., to create next-generation wellness facility in Monument. What if healthcare focused on keeping people healthy instead of waiting to treat people until they are sick? According to Penrose St. Francis Health Services and the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region, that change would mean lower healthcare costs,

more convenient care and most importantly, a healthier community. Because of that, those two organizations, along with developer The Boldt Co., have teamed up to begin work on the Tri-Lakes Community Health Village in Monument, said a joint release from the companies. The Tri-Lakes Community Health Village will include a 50,000 square foot outpatient facility that will be directly attached to the Tri-Lakes YMCA, which is the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region’s newest location. Body found during area flood patrols Man, 54, found near Nevada and Las Vegas streets identified By Rob Carrigan

rcarrigan@ourcoloradonews.com The Colorado Springs Police Department noticed what appeared to be a body in the water near Nevada and Las Vegas streets at 4:15 a.m. on Sept. 12, while they conducted flood patrols in the area. The police notified the Colorado Springs Fire Department Heavy Rescue Team at 4:19 a.m. to respond to the scene. The team recovered the remains of an unidentified adult male at 4:55 a.m. Body continues on Page 9

President Barack Obama approved a request from Gov. John Hickenlooper for federal disaster assistance related to the flooding in Boulder, El Paso and Larimer counties.
