The Freshman curriculum includes learning about food insecurity as a national problem and understanding it in the context of our location in Oak Park. All freshmen will also spend one morningattheCathedraloftheBlessedSacramentservingBrownBagLunchesforthoseinneed. Thisprojectwillculminatewiththefreshmanclassspearheadingacannedfooddriveinthemonth ofNovembertobenefitourneighborsintheOakParkcommunity.
The Sophomore year curriculum will focus on the plight of refugees in the Sacramento area. Working with World Relief, a non-profit agency that helps resettle refugees throughout the country,andparticularlyinSacramento,sophomoreswillleadaninformationalcampaigntoraise awareness. Additionally, they will spearhead a collection of items to compile Welcome Kits for newlyarrivedrefugeesandwillhaveopportunitiestovolunteerintheWorldReliefwarehouse.
TheJunioryearcurriculumwillcenterarounddiscussionsthatemergeaftertheirreadingofThere, TherebyTommyOrange.There,Thereisanovelthatexploresthemesofthemodern-day,urban NativeAmericanexperience.Juniorswillthenworktoprovideprogrammingaboutsocialjustice issues surrounding the Native American experience in the 21st century for students at a nearby elementaryschoolinOakPark.

Seniors havea4-dayfieldtripandvisittheGettyMuseuminLosAngeles,theHuntingtonLibraryin Pasadena,andDisneylandinAnaheim.
RequirementsoftheScholarPathProgram
Students must qualify for the program with Freshman year classes. Freshmenwhosuccessfully completetherequiredfreshmenyearcurriculumand1)earnagradepointaverageof3.7or betterthesecondsemesterand2)haveearnedacumulativeGPAfortheyearof3.7orbetterand 3)exhibitpersonalintegrityareinvitedtobecome ScholarsatthebeginningoftheSophomore year. TomaintainScholarstatus,studentsmustatalltimesexhibitpersonalintegrityandearna GPAofatleast3.85eachsemester ofSophomore,JuniorandSenioryear,andcontinueonthe ScholarPathProgramCurriculum:

4-YearArtsStudentsmaycrossdisciplinesduringtheirfouryears,(ex2yearsofBandand2 yearsofMediaArts)butmusthaveatleastonefullyearinasingleartscoursetomeet graduationrequirements.
4yearArtsStudentsandstudentswhomakeasignificantextracurricularcontributiontothearts arerecognizedatgraduationwiththeBrotherGeorgeVanGriekenArtsMedal.
Ifyouareinterestedinthe4yearArtsProgram,werecommendscheduling anappointmentwith yourcounselortohelpplanyourcourseofstudies.
ChristianBrothersEngineeringProgram StudentsintheEngineeringProgramcompleteaminimumof6semestersofEngineeringcourses. Courses can be completed in any order, as long as the Mathematics course prerequisites are met uponenrollmentineachcourse.Studentswhosuccessfullycompletetheprogramarerecognized atgraduationwiththeSt.PatrickEngineeringPinandmentionedintheprogram.
AllyearlongEngineeringsciencecoursesareconsideredScienceelectivesbyUC/CSUstandards andcannotreplacecompletionofaPhysicalorLifeScience.
