Utah Supermall
(Contintred from page 10) are thinking about remodeling or are in the process of purchasing materials for their home. Breen says. Contractors often accompany or send clients to select doors or window styles.
Colonial Building Supplies, a full line lumberyard, is one of the original tenants. With an operation in Bountiful, they considered the mall an opportunity to be part of what Gary Lemmons, manager of the mall store, calls the premier building materials shopping center.

As yet the mall store is heavy on contractor business, but Lemmonsexpects the retail trade to grow as the center reaches its peak in the next few years.
"Utah is conservative, but shoppers are discovering the convenience of the building materials mall," he said. The mall and its tenants are building traffic with many special promotions. Each promotion brings more business, according to Lemmons, who says tenants must have patience.
The development of a building products and services mall is not limited to the Mountain States. Ground has been broken for a Super Home Center in Cincinnati, Oh., with February 1986, targeted as the opening date. An 80,000 sq. ft. building will be developed near I-75 at a location where approximately 60,000 cars pass each day. Its market area will extend into neighboring Indiana and Kentucky areas.
If the Super Home Center concept is successful, the developers, a builder, an investment co. and a realty, plan similar malls in Louisville and Lexington, Ky., Atlanta, Ga., and Denver. Co.
