Name me a store owner or manager who doesn't sincerely believe his firm is doing a bang up job of selling his product lines.
But the important question really is: "How much of the total sales potential is actually being realized? "
Despite how good sales are, they could always be better. That's the point.
Therefore, let's discuss ways to more effectively merchandise hardwood flooring products and increase sales volume.
I firmly believe that the most significant single factor in maintaining a profrtable retail sales program for hardwood flooring is an attractive display area located near the main traffic flow pattern.
These displays should be continually updated. It is important to capitalize on the many attractive parquet patterns and designs new on the market. Make certain that manufacturers' brochures are readily available at all points of sale. If you run short of supply, call your wholesale hardwood flooring distributor. He'll deliver some to you-fast.

The lack of a sustained advertising program for promoting the sale of hardwood flooring is another reason why many building supply houses, lumber yards and home centers are not enjoying their deserved share of the consumer market. These same people should take advantage of the special cooperative sales promotions generally initiated every spring and fall season by flooring manufacturers. Banners, signs, and sales materials come with the package.

Every store with a hardwood flooring display should allocate as much space as possible to a laid-down floor with sections of different patterns. If you do not have sufficient floor space, use the walls! Wall pattern displays can be spectacular and eye appealing. We strongly urge retail dealers to supplement manufacturer sales opportunities with their own merchandising programs for selling hardwood flooring.
