BidHarvest®: Making Plant & Machinery Auctions Better One
Lot at a Time
BidHarvest® delivers a unified auction platform designed to simplify operations and give auctioneers complete control from intake to invoice.
Unified Auction Technology That Simplifies Operations
Modern plant and machinery auctions are no longer confined to the rostrum. They happen in the yard or field, from a laptop in a site trailer or moving vehicle, or even a tablet right beside the machine itself.
BidHarvest®’s unified technology approach makes the complex simple, reducing hours of admin, simplifying the end to end seller and bidder experience for both live and timed auctions, empowering auctioneers to run faster, smarter and more profitable auctions all from a single cloud based 24/7 technology platform.
Advanced Consignment & Inventory ControlPower in the User’s Palm
Consignments begin the moment a seller agrees to sell. Paperwork must be raised, digital signatures captured and details recorded, often before the items have even arrived. With BidHarvest®’s marketplace tools, consignments can be created from anywhere in the world, at scale, with ease.
For on-site consignments, teams can add multiple items directly from a tablet while inspecting newly delivered stock. Whether entering a JCB excavator, CAT loader, or
Volvo digger, every detail, make, model, serial number, media and inventory location is captured in seconds. Multiple consignment lines can be created instantly and items can be grouped by package. Lots are added to the auction effortlessly and appear on the auction website in real time, with no delays, duplicate entry or third-party syncing.
BidHarvest® provides real-time visibility across the entire business, ensuring every machine is ready for sale with total exposure and traceability.
Streamlined Media Capture - Smarter in the Yard, Sleeker for Buyers
Traditionally, photography day meant memory cards, cables and confusion. BidHarvest® removes the friction. Teams can upload media directly to lots from a phone or tablet, item by item, while in the yard. Professional photography teams can also benefit from the new QR code upload tools.
Each item receives a unique digital tag via the BidHarvest® QR Photo Upload Tool. Auctioneers can capture and upload multiple high-resolution images directly against the QR code, syncing instantly with the correct listing.
The same QR codes are used on yard labels: clients can scan a machine’s label to open its online listing - photos, details and bidding links - directly on their phone. Internal teams scanning the same code will instead open the consignment card for that item.
No searching. No guesswork. No missed opportunities.
Custom Attribute Manager - Infinite Flexibility
The BidHarvest® Attribute Manager gives auction teams complete control when creating rich, detailed product listings. Teams can set up categories, attribute sets and attribute values without technical support and choose whether attributes appear as catalogue filters, listing bullet points or both.
It delivers full e-commerce-style flexibility, no developers required, no delays and no added cost.
Auction Documentation Made Simple
Paperwork may not be the most enjoyable task, but BidHarvest® transforms it into a seamless process. The Auction Documentation Suite automatically generates fully branded documents - from the initial digital contract (with signature and audit trail) through to pre-sale reports, post-sale reports, customer invoices and settlement statements. All documents are emailed automatically and stored within customer cards in the back office, as well as within client-specific online portals.
Every figure feeds into summary reporting within the auction manager, enabling direct transfer of lot results, commissions and VAT information into accounting systems.
Simple Onboarding and Migration
With a comprehensive Auction API and documentation in Swagger, BidHarvest® supports auction companies transitioning from other platforms - simplifying the import of legacy client, auction and bidder data. The onboarding team provides structured training and access to an extensive online knowledge base, enabling users to run their full auction workflow through the unified platform.
From lot intake to hammer fall, every feature within BidHarvest® is designed with one purpose: to make auctions simpler, smarter and more profitable.
Auctioneers around the world are choosing BidHarvest® to modernise, streamline and strengthen their day-to-day operations. As more businesses transition to unified auction technology, BidHarvest® continues to support them at every stage of their digital journey.
The BidHarvest® team works closely with each client throughout the discovery and delivery process, taking time to understand individual workflows, operational challenges, and long-term goals. This collaborative approach ensures the auction platform aligns seamlessly with each business’s specific needs.

For over 65 years, Auction News has helped UK businesses source used trucks, vans and trailers at competitive prices.
With deep market knowledge and strong industry links, we provide a trusted route into the fast-moving world of commercial vehicle auctions.
As more organisations look to balance cost efficiency with operational needs, auctions have become a practical alternative to traditional dealerships. But is buying used at auction right for your business? Here’s what you need to know.
The Pros of Buying Used at Auction Cost Savings
Auctions offer significant value compared to dealerships. Businesses can often secure quality vehicles at a fraction of the usual price, making it easier to stretch fleet budgets further.
Variety of Stock
Weekly auctions across the UK feature a wide range of commercial vehicles, including:
• Vans and LCVs
• Tractor units and rigid trucks
• Tippers, flatbeds and curtain-siders
• Trailers and specialist/utility vehicles
Regularly refreshed catalogues ensure buyers have access to a broad selection suited to nearly every sector and budget.
Fast, Efficient Purchasing
Once the hammer falls, the vehicle is yours - allowing businesses to get fleet assets into service quickly without lengthy negotiations.
Transparent Information
• Listings usually include:
• Service histories
• MOT records
• Detailed photos and sometimes videos
• Condition reports and independent inspections
This transparency helps buyers make informed decisions before bidding.
The Cons of Buying Used at Auction
• Limited inspection – Test drives are rarely possible, so careful preparation is essential.
• Sold ‘as seen’ – Vehicles usually come without warranties; repairs are the buyer’s responsibility.
• Additional costs – Buyer’s premiums, VAT, transport and servicing should all be factored in.
• Competitive bidding – Popular vehicles can attract strong interest, so set firm limits to avoid overspending.
