WELCOME TO THE FAMILY.

Our passion for lighting runs deep in the family. For more than 35 years, Paul Ameloot and his wife Katrien have put their heart and soul into building Deltalight. For over a decade, their sons Peter and Jan have been continuing this journey with the same confidence and dedication, and they continue to do so today.

But of course, Deltalight is more than just the Ameloot family. It is also our 700+ employees who design, develop and build our lighting solutions. It is our customers who challenge us to continue to innovate and to push our boundaries. And it is our partners who collaborate with us to shape the lighting of tomorrow. True to our family values, we always try to build long-term partnerships based on direct contact, commitment and mutual trust.

1974

Paul Ameloot opens hi-fi store Stereo House in Roeselare, Belgium. The rise of disco culture sparks a growing demand for nightclub lighting. Gradually, the focus begins to shift from sound to light.

1989

Founding of Deltalight.

Paul Ameloot and his team develop their first lighting fixture: Phantom. The business grows rapidly and Deltalight is soon active in more than 50 countries.

1997

Publication of the first Lighting Bible. Over the years, the Lighting Bible has evolved into an essential reference guide, and a source of inspiration for the international lighting industry.

2006

Opening of the House of Light in Wevelgem, Belgium.

Deltalight’s new HQ includes offices, a production department, a spacious showroom, storage areas, testing and certification laboratories and a training centre.

2018

Establishment of Deltalight Group. Strategic acquisitions, including AQForm and American Lambent Lighting Group, lead to the creation of Deltalight Group, and a further strengthening of our global market position. Alongside the Deltalight brand, the group also expanded its portfolio with the addition of LEDsGo.

Today

A new generation.

Paul Ameloot continues to inspire the company, with his sons, Peter and Jan, now leading Deltalight as co-CEOs, building on their father’s legacy.

As designers and manufacturers of luminaires, we prioritise optimal thermal conditions to ensure that our LEDs maintain optimal performance. From the design of LED circuit boards and heat sinks to the selection of materials, assembly methods and installation techniques, every detail is meticulously engineered to maximise lifetime and efficiency.

By partnering with the world’s leading LED suppliers, we guarantee consistent LED quality and colour uniformity across our entire portfolio. MacAdam Step 2 is the minimum standard for all our products, with many of our latest collections meeting MacAdam Step 1 for superior colour consistency.

Certified laboratory testing.

All our products undergo rigorous quality and safety testing at our IEC-compliant laboratory. Working in close collaboration with trusted certifying partners like SGS-CEBEC and INTERTEK, we ensure that all our products are CE, ENEC, and CB certified, meaning that they meet the highest safety standards in both European and IEC member countries.

Additionally, our laboratory holds a Level 4 Satellite Laboratory certification from INTERTEK. This allows us to obtain the cETLus listing for our North American product range quickly and efficiently, to deliver tailored solutions that meet even the most demanding customer needs.

To ensure a fast, efficient, 'first time right' development process, we employ state-of-the-art techniques. These include extensive use of 3D printing, early-stage Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), goniophotometer measurements and an in-house, thirdparty recognised lab (SMT/CTF/satellite data acceptance).

In addition to our indoor suite, we also offer a comprehensive range of outdoor lighting solutions. The quality of our outdoor range is defined by five key factors: materials, pre-treatment, powder coating, hardware and process control.

This thorough treatment is reinforced by two distinctive trademarks: Deltalight Quality Protect® guarantees long-term corrosion resistance through a protective non-organic pretreatment applied to the most suitable alloys, while Deltalight Supreme Texture® ensures the product's finish is both weatherand UV-resistant.

DESIGN COLLABS.

DEAN SKIRA

Dean Skira is the founder of Skira, an award-winning studio based in Pula, Croatia. They have completed projects in the EU, Middle East, Russia, Canada and the UK. For the past 30 years, Dean has been collaborating with investors, architects and other designers to create meaningful lighting experiences.

Polesano Bollard is a new range within the Polesano family. Thanks to its high performance optical system, it can be positioned up to 10 metres apart, which in turn equates to a need for fewer luminaires, and thus more energy savings. The luminaires themselves can be fitted with special low power LED sources that eliminate blue light. This Nature Centric Lighting, together with the positioning of the LED, reduces light pollution and minimises visual disturbance to nearby flora and fauna.

PARK ASSOCIATI

Founded in 2000 by Filippo Pagliani and Michele Rossi, Park Associati is an interdisciplinary collective of architects, designers, researchers and innovators based in Milan. They specialise in architectural design, urban planning, interior design and product design.

The result of our collaboration with Park Associati is Nebbia, a family of fixtures inspired by the mists of Milan. With its rounded geometric design, mesmerising yet tactile glass cover, and meticulously chosen colour palette, Nebbia never fails to capture your imagination. In 2024, Nebbia received the prestigious Red Dot Award for lighting design.

Over the years, we have partnered with numerous leading architects and designers from around the world. By combining their creative vision with the expertise of our own in-house design team, we continue to surprise our customers with innovative lighting solutions.

UNSTUDIO

Founded in 1988 by Ben van Berkel and Caroline Bos, UNStudio is a global network specialising in architecture, interior architecture, product design, urban development and infrastructural projects. They operate from six full-service international offices in Amsterdam, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Frankfurt, Dubai, Melbourne and Austin.

Together with Ben, we created Soliscape, a highly versatile and flexible system that combines lighting, acoustics and IoT to create human-centric environments.

MVRDV

MVRDV was founded in 1993 by Winy Maas, Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries. Based in Rotterdam, Shanghai, Paris, Berlin and New York, they provide solutions to contemporary architectural and urban issues the world over.

A perfect example of upcycling, Deltalight and MVRDV’s High Profile series is a lighting range inspired by leftover aluminium profiles. The environmentally conscious design takes a critical look at the manufacturing process, discovering both opportunity and beauty in offcuts that would otherwise be cast aside. The result is a series of industrially inspired pendant, wallmounted and freestanding luminaires that are both colourful and sustainable.

CUSTOMISED SOLUTIONS AND BESPOKE PRODUCTION.

In addition to our existing product suite, we also develop tailor-made solutions on demand. All Deltalight products can be customised to meet specific needs. Additionally, our bespoke production service allows us to collaborate closely with customers to develop tailored lighting solutions that bring their unique visions to life.

A fine example is our installation in Starbucks' Reserve Roastery and Arriviamo Bar in Milan by architectural studio Arup Associates. Together with Niteo Lighting, we created a series of iconic scoop-shaped luminaires—a playful nod to the coffee scoops used in the roastery. With their brass finish, they blend in beautifully with the architecture.

DELTALIGHT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS.

As a forward-thinking family business, we are committed to creating a positive impact for both current and future generations. Sustainability and circularity are at the heart of this commitment.

We conducted a double materiality assessment to identify and prioritise key issues. This resulted in the development of a four cornerstone-based programme that will guide us towards a sustainable future. To ensure that we meet our fixed long-term goals, we will review our progress on an annual basis and adjust our efforts where necessary, desirable or possible.

DECARBONISATION PROGRAMME

What is the goal?

We aim to cut our carbon footprint in half by 2030. This requires an annual reduction of 8% for Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. Our long-term goal is to be carbon neutral by 2050.

How will we achieve this?

Since 2021, we have tracked and reduced our carbon footprint, with a strong focus on Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. Now we are turning our attention to Scope 3 emissions, the bulk of our impact. By optimising materials and improving the efficiency of our products, we will be able to reduce indirect emissions and have a greater impact where it matters most.

Where are we today?

Over the past four years, we have successfully reduced our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 40%. This achievement is driven by key actions such as switching to 100% renewable energy, upgrading air-conditioning systems, expanding our electric vehicle fleet, and optimising waste management processes.

CIRCULAR ECONOMY PROGRAMME

What is the goal?

We want to adopt a circular economy model by 2050 in order to reduce dependence on finite resources, minimise waste, and to ensure our products all form part of a sustainable life cycle.

How will we achieve this?

Our current focus is on durability. We prioritise high-quality products with a timeless design, which are built to last and to be highly efficient in terms of lighting.

To take this commitment to the next level, we have developed a circular compass. This scorecard is a powerful tool for evaluating and enhancing the circularity of both products and packaging throughout their life cycle. In a next phase, we want to fully implement this scorecard to ensure that sustainability is embedded in every stage of the design and production process.

Where are we today?

Since 2023, we have been phasing out plastic in packaging and switching to single-stream recycled paper, cardboard and paper tape. We also reuse cardboard from our manufacturing process and turn it into shredded padding for our shipping boxes. In addition, we continue to reduce shipping volumes by changing the shape of our packaging. Today, almost all our packaging is recyclable in mainstream recycling streams.

SOCIAL FOUNDATION PROGRAMME

What is the goal?

We want to promote a culture of social sustainability and equal opportunity while at the same time respecting the needs of future generations.

How will we achieve this?

We are building a supportive environment where people can grow and glow. This includes empowering our teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and ownership among all employees to ensure our customers always receive the best support, maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners, and making a positive impact on the communities around us.

Where are we today?

All our employees participate in annual reviews through our Grow and Glow programme. This initiative contributes to their professional growth and helps them explore new career opportunities.

IR is a powerful combination of architectural lighting and ventilation. Thanks to its intelligent integration into light fixtures, ventilation openings in the ceiling are no longer necessary. This innovation offers new possibilities for architects and interior designers.

In current building methods, lighting and ventilation designs are typically treated as two separate phases within the design process. This often results in a cluttered ceiling with numerous interruptions— whether due to differences in design between light fixtures and ventilation units, misaligned installations, or a combination of both.

IR merges two functions into one. The result? A unified design language, a single installation layout, and a cohesive look and feel, delivering two functionalities in one solution.
