KNOWING GOOD LIGHT

4ROOM is a small-scale luminaire manufacturer located in a picturesque village Vääna, 20km from Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. Brought to life in 2002, it carries the knowhow and skills of its predecessor Estoplast founded in 1959. Merging quality lighting with design, the ambition of 4ROOM is contemporary yet timeless products enhancing the interiors and providing great light. 4ROOM combines traditional craftsmanship with automated production to allow flexibility in customising orders to satisfy the customers’ unique requirements.

4ROOM provides its own design, engineering and product development. The workshops are equipped with various machines for production and updated regularly to meet the expectation of high quality products. The luminaires are paint finished on site. Textile shades of which quality 4ROOM prides on are made by our skilled craftsmen combining CNC technology with artisanship. All products are created under one roof in a small factory in Vääna from carefully selected certified quality materials made in the EU.

Estonia experiences long and dark winters with limited hours of daylight. In summer, the sun sets only for a few brief hours. Therefore, we know and appreciate the role of good light in our everyday life. The design focus of 4ROOM product range is on the functionality bringing more good light to the interior. The clean and simple aesthetics of the luminaires enhances various styles of interiors adding value to the present moment.

By no means a modest fixture, the Spirit Royal enchants with its elegant and regal appearance. While being an eye-catching centrepiece for any style of interior it also produces great light that fills extensive spaces.

An enchanting airy chandelier. A chameleon that fits easily in a modern setting but can also transform a historical interior. Hung close to the ceiling, the luminaire mimics its majestic yet strange namesake.

For easy delivery, the ‘legs’ fold up and the chandelier fits into conveniently transportable box.

This pendant cluster luminaire is fully customisable to perfectly complement the interior. Whether the shades are of the same colour or contrastingly different, the luminaire will definitely be notable.

TOILA

Toila series is proud of its long history. In the 1970s Estoplast was providing half of the world with the predecessors of the Toila product family. The materials and methods of production have now been updated but the timeless form still reflects on its past conquests. The length of the cable not in use can be conveniently coiled up around the base of the leg.

The flexible neck of the otherwise modest lamp allows to bend it to your will to get light where you most need it. This practical lamp, in its simplicity, finds its place in every environment. Choose from our wide range of shade fabrics to make the lamp uniquely yours.

At 4ROOM we value the collaboration between our skilled craftsmen, engineers and the designers. However, the character of our head designer Tarmo Luisk is strongly recognisable in 4ROOM product range.

Tarmo playfully experiments with product design and applied art. Being one of the most well-known and productive Estonian designers, he has created furniture, lamps and clocks, and has also dealt with public space. His designs are characterised by clever details and witty titles. His humour and cleverness shines bright through his work, but also hangs in the air surrounding him. One can tell already when entering the 4ROOM premises that Tarmo is in the building as everyone’s mood is slightly lifted.

UNIVERSAL

Universal is as much of an eye-catcher as it is a well-functioning light fixture in your office or your home. The flexible neck of the lamp allows to direct the light where it’s needed. The length of the cable not in use can be conveniently coiled up around the base of the leg.

The aluminium shade completes the industrial look of the lamp perfectly.

BUBBLE BOY

Humour is the focal point in many designs by Tarmo Luisk. Bubble Boy is a delightful wall-luminaire lighting up not only the room but also people in it. Whether the bubble is big or small is up to you – by changing the light bulb you can change the whole appearance of this fun fixture.

In the autumn of 2017 4ROOM celebrated a small anniversary –15 years had passed since the name 4ROOM was chosen to represent the new chapter for the luminaire manufacturer based in Vääna.

CRANE

Crane is first and foremost a functional and mobile lighting fixture with various options for regulating the dimensions. The functionality of the design is inspired by tall cranes at construction sites. Similar to its gigantic cousins, the form of Crane was created by the functionality.

As multifunctional rooms are becoming the norm, lighting needs to adapt. We need light to follow the person’s daily routine and activities and be adjusted accordingly.

This floor lamp turns into a mobile luminaire providing excellent light.

To avoid dazzling while choosing for great light we offer three different diffusers for our shades. Acrylic diffuser balances the light evenly and has a refined shine. Chintz fabric allows a little less light through while providing a cosier finish to the luminaire. Camelot fabric showcases its texture and allows more light to travel through it.

The palette is carefully considered, delicate and natural. Contrast between the colours is subtle. The shades and gradations create a soft look with warm, natural and human feel. We move towards a world where natural and non-natural elements are combined to create a new expression; materials are grown while colours and unique patterns are created by using living organisms such as bacteria. As the technology and science are creating new pathways in the natural world it inspires us to combine the colours in new and unexpected ways: bringing light colours to darker interiors as accents, adding warmth to grey tones by using pink, feeling bold and experimenting by adding metallic.
