Local Manufacturing

Our company, like our furniture, is built upon five generations of design heritage. Each and every item we produce is designed with intention: an heirloom for future generations to cherish and enjoy. We achieve this by staying local.

As leaders in sustainable, locally produced furniture we are reducing our impact on the environment by producing local for locals. We are proud to use a majority of local suppliers and maintain our own manufacturing facilities within Australia. This allows us to support our local economy

Mindful Material Use

A Zuster design is not only timeless, it is durable, too. We use consciously sourced natural materials in the making of our products. We regularly review our use of raw materials to ensure continuous improvements in efficiencies of manufacture, as well as traceability.

Our timbers are selected for their low environmental impact. These are FSCcertified, PEFC-certified and chain of custody accredited. The mills from which we source meet stringent requirements in terms of forest regeneration, biodiversity and the

Computer numerical controlled designs that create depth, interest and three-dimensional detailing.

Timber profiles arrayed on door fronts and bases to create a detailed and dynamic effect.

Leather inlays can be incorporated into designs. Caledonian leather is used to create an inlay in desks.

Durability

Microsealing

MicroSeal is used to protect our fabrics.It is an environmentally friendly product. It aids in protection, is anti-static & will reduce smoke and flame spread in the event of a fire. It offers long term stain resistance, sun fade resistance, and increases fabric life

Zuster’s Faux leather is a heavy duty commericial fabric comrising of 100% polyurethane. Clients and Designers can get their Zuster pieces reupholstered in the future to upkeep the designs.

Acrylic Polyurethane Satin Clear

Top Coat gives our furniture a high level of protection and a percetange of gloss. The final application becomes a moisture barrier.

Cut with precision on our CNC (Computer Numerical Control) and finished off by hand. Our Zuster designed light switches and GPO/USB can be customised in black or white switches and available in all of out zuster timber finishes.

CMS Executive power and charging data boxes integrated into our boardroom tables for the ideal solution in your conference room. Seamlessly matching the grain of the table top.

Available options for GPO, data, USB, Audio/Visual.

LED strip lighting can be integrated into our furniture pieces; functional via a sensor to activate the light.

Mechanical uplift for an ergonomic and efficient working station. Allowing you to sit or stand.

Hardware

Zuster exclusively uses Blum for functionality of our furniture pieces; soft close and push to open drawer runners and a variety of hinges. Our push to open drawer runners are exclusive to us nation wide.

Blum’s Quality Management System is certified to ISO 9001.

Edging

Solid Edging for a grand look, and makes the door fronts more robust.

Veneer edging creates a seamless look and is more cost effective.

The Contour Wall Unit is handcrafted in American Oak, featuring oval marble inlays set within solid timber handles and finished with our signature Halo plinth base. The exposed shelves are lined in faux leather with a refined stitch detail, while the internal adjustable shelving remains in timber for a clean, functional finish. Integrated strip lighting runs vertically up both sides of the unit, softly illuminating the unit.

Throw Rugs

Everyone Throw rug is hand crafted and has matching fur colour to velvet on the back. Available in double, queen, or king sizes.

Cushions

Cushions can be hand crafted in all Zuster fabrics in sizes, 400 x 400, 500 x 500, 600 x 600 and 300 x 500. All cushions are made with feather inserts. Custom sizes are available. Clients can specify their own fabrics.

Penthouse Apartment at the Mondrian with custom furniture

A custom-designed TV unit with integrated banquette seating, complete with a built-in sound system and marble and brass shelving.

Thoughtfully designed billiards storage, with integrated compartments fon each side for pool cues and ball storage.

To complement the building’s striking façade, Zuster custom-designed bathroom vanities featuring intricate door fronts that reflect the architectural elements of the exterior. In addition, we furnished the foyer and breakout areas, ensuring a seamless flow between the building’s historic character and modern functionality.

Alba’s restaurant Thyme showcases locally design and manufatcured furniture which follows suit with their locally sourced and served produce. Their spa offers a sanctury for stillness with Zuster’s swivel armchairs, stools, and nail bar.

Portarlington Hotel

Techne Architecure

Design intent in keeping with the orignal architecural details of the hotel; This refurb granted Zuster the opportunity to design a collection specific to the hotel and with its success turned it into an ongoing furniture collection. Now known as Victoria.

The Sibbel House is a fully renovated mid-century modern design, lovingly created by Sibbel Builders in 1968 & restored in 2020. The stunning country retreat is set on two acres, sleeps 8 adults, 2 children, with 3 double bedrooms and a separate studio bedroom.

Designed and handcrafted in Melbourne, with precision and artistry in our own manufacturing house.
