Rigi The Rigi (1,797 m / 5,895 ft a.s.l.) lies between Lake Lucerne, Lake Zug, and Lake Lauerz. Europe’s first mountain railway starts its ascent at Vitznau. Hiking routes, wellness facilities, and fabulous views – particularly over the sea of mist in fall and winter – make the Rigi one of the most-visited mountains in central Switzerland.
Pilatus Pilatus (2,132 m / 6,994 ft a.s.l.) is an imposing mountain massif that overlooks Lucerne. The world’s steepest cog railway starts from Alpnachstad, while an aerial cableway ascends the mountain from Kriens. At the summit, panoramic trails, restaurants, a historic hotel, and a breathtaking 360° view of the Alps and Lake Lucerne await.
Jungfrau The Jungfrau (4,158 m / 13,641 ft a.s.l.) is part of the famed triumvirate made up of the Eiger, the Mönch, and the Jungfrau, and is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. The Jungfraujoch (3,450 m / 11,318 ft a.s.l.) offers a unique view over Aletsch Glacier, the longest glacier in Europe, and can be reached via a cog railway or the Eiger Express.
Stanserhorn The Stanserhorn (1,898 m / 6,227 ft a.s.l.) is a mountain at the heart of Switzerland with a historic funicular and the double-decker aerial cableway CabriO. At the top, visitors are greeted with a 360° panorama of the Alps and lakes, a marmot park, and a revolving restaurant.
Säntis The Säntis (2,502 m / 8208 ft a.s.l.) offers breathtaking views over six cantons. A cable car starts at the Schwägalp Pass and climbs to the summit, where visitors will find a circular walk, climate-related exhibitions, and a mountain inn offering local specialties and a view of Lake Constance and the foothills of the Alps.
