Every face tells a story. Every story belongs EMPower Me: Journey to Resilience Exhibition Ethnically Diverse Youths Use Art to Share Stories of Strength Hong Kong, 25 September 2026 – Sometimes the hardest battles are the ones nobody sees. The worries you keep to yourself. The struggles you cry about in private. The feeling that nobody truly understands what you are going through. For many ethnically diverse young people in Hong Kong, navigating identity can be a deeply personal journey.

EMPower Me: Journey to Resilience Exhibition This September, The Zubin Foundation presents the EMPower Me: Journey to Resilience Exhibition (堅韌同行展覽), a three-day public exhibition showcasing artworks and personal reflections created by ethnically diverse youths. Through deeply personal pieces, participants share stories of struggle and hope, inviting the community to look beyond assumptions and connect with the person behind the story. The exhibition is the culmination of The Zubin Foundation's EMPower Me Programme, supported by Link Together Initiatives, the flagship charity and community engagement programme of Link Asset Management Limited. As a Hong Kong registered charity committed to improving the lives of Hong Kong's ethnically diverse communities, The Zubin Foundation works to reduce suffering and provide opportunities. Through the EMPower Me Programme, young people are provided with a supportive space to build confidence and discover their own strengths.

More Than Art: Stories That Inspire While every artwork is different, many share common themes: identity, family, friendship, belonging, mental well-being, self-worth and hope. Together, they demonstrate how creativity can become a powerful tool for reflection, healing and empowerment. Among the featured works is a sculpture titled “Wonders of Words” created by Noor, depicting a butterfly emerging above a face with a bandaged mouth and barbed wire wrapped around the neck. Noor shared, “‘Wonders of Words’ explores the transformative journey of overcoming the fear of public speaking. Through this artwork, I reflect on the importance of shifting from overthinking and self-doubt to embracing positivity and growth. I incorporated vibrant greens and nature elements to showcase the process of healing and empowerment. It is through accepting our words and inner strength that it is possible to conquer anxiety and find confidence in self-expression just like the peeling bandage. All in all, this piece inspires you to think of the wonder and potential that lies within our ability to communicate.”
