RE: WASTE redefines how people can reshape their perception of waste as a transformative agent. It serves as a reminder that urban nature is not separate from human excess but continually reshaped by it. Through the framework cycles of ‘Expose’ and ‘Evolve’, the fifth nature for Chong Pang’s residential landscape will be an urban living ecology of waste and renewal.

INTERIM CASE STUDY: APPLE PARK, CUPERTINO My interim case study on Apple Park, Cupertino examined existing industrial practices and spatial set-ups, focusing on how industrial environments are designed and how effectively they influence staff well-being, productivity, business branding, and overall economic performance. Referencing this study in Phyco Re:code, it highlights a key issue within the Jurong Industrial Estate: the existing industrial fabric does not support employee well-being or productivity, nor does it attract public engagement for work or leisure.

Cohesiety revitalizes Queenstown’s Mei Ling Estate by blending tradition and modernity. It preserves the Mei Ling Food Centre’s history while introducing multifunctional spaces for learning, socializing, and sustainability, fostering intergenerational connections and spatial interactions. The design integrates production, play, and community activities, creating a cohesive, evolving hub for all ages.

The murals are framed by the arches of the cityscape, drawing viewers into the rich culture of Macau, and the natural elements surrounding the city.
The rooftop are chosen as the background, from M8 to the historical street. The rooftops reflect the changes in Macau’s history.

Windows frame our views of the world. The shift from square to arched reflects the transition around M8, from a residential neighbourhood to a historic and cultural district.
The rooftop hosts a mix of public and private Macau-themed events, where interactions between people and place create a vibrant microcosm of Macau.
Mosaic tiles are a specialty of Macau’s culture, and we have extracted them and slightly modified them to form part of our arched wall, reassembling two of Macau’s specialties to form a new cityscape.
The dominant colours are blue, representing the lapis lazuli tiles, and gold, representing the Macau M8, on top of which a slight adjustment was made to form our colour palette.
