PSORIASIS

ATOPIC DERMATITIS

Several clinical trials have established the benefits of BIOPTRON® Hyperlight therapy for psoriasis across different body areas. These trials have consistently shown that BIOPTRON® treatment leads to a reduction in the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) score—a widely used measure of psoriasis severity that assesses the extent of affected skin and the severity of symptoms like redness, scaling, and thickness—as well as a decrease in skin thickness, with an excellent safety profile and no reported side effects. (El Alfy et al., 2023; Nosseir et al., 2020; Waked et al., 2015)

BIOPTRON® Hyperlight therapy has demonstrated clinical benefits in managing dermatitis by reducing inflammation and promoting skin regeneration. This non-invasive treatment can alleviate symptoms such as redness, itching, and scaling, leading to improved skin health and patient comfort. Statistical analysis of PASI & thickness of skin between control group (patients treated with topical methylprednisolone aceponate 0.1% Cream) and BIOPTRON® group (patients treated with the same cream and BIOPTRON®). A patient with chronic psoriasis, experiencing periodic severe flare-ups affecting the entire back, underwent monotherapy with BIOPTRON® Hyperlight device. Treatment consisted of daily 60-minute sessions (six 10minutes applications to different areas of the back at a 10cm distance) with BIOPTRON® Hyperlight therapy. Prior to treatment, the patient presented with extensive erythema, pustules, and rough skin texture. After 9 days of BIOPTRON® Hyperlight therapy, erythema was reduced to a milder pink, pustules decreased significantly, and skin smoothness improved. Following an additional 6 days of therapy, further reduction in redness and nearelimination of pustules was observed. After a total of 17 days, the patient’s back showed drastic improvement, with near-complete resolution of erythema, absence of pustules, and smooth, non-inflamed skin.

Clinical studies have shown that BIOPTRON® treatment reduces dermatitis symptoms. This reduction is measured using the SCORAD index (SCORing Atopic Dermatitis), a clinical tool assessing eczema severity based on erythema, edema/papulation, excoriations, lichenification, oozing/crusts, dryness, and lesion size. Both topical corticosteroid cream (hydrocortisone 2.5%) and BIOPTRON® light therapy improved SCORAD scores over four weeks. However, group treated additionally with BIOPTRON® Hyperlight yielded a substantially higher percentage improvement (518.6%) than the corticosteroid cream (260.7%). This case report details the case of a patient with moderate atopic dermatitis on the legs and hands that had persisted for 20 years despite numerous treatments. Following a six-week regimen of BIOPTRON® Hyperlight therapy, the patient experienced remarkable improvement, including a substantial reduction in redness (erythema), itching (pruritus), and skin dryness (dehydration).
