Taskedwiththecomprehensivedevelopmentofafullsectionof land,theDPSTacticalTrainingFacilityisamission-critical campusdesignedtoservemultiplestatepublicsafetyagencies.
AsLeadArchitectforBuildingDevelopment,Idirectedthe architecturaldesignandtechnicalintegrationfortendistinct facilities,rangingfromhigh-occupancydormitoryandclassroom buildingstospecializedtacticalstructuresincludingburn buildings,breachfacilities,andballistically-ratedshooting ranges.
Operatingwithinaruralcontext,theprojectrequireda sophisticatedapproachtosite-wideinfrastructure orchestratingthedeploymentofprivateutilitynetworks,fire suppressionsystems,andhigh-speeddataacross640acres.I managedamassiveconsultantcohortofover70specialists, includingballisticsexpertsandtrackdesigners,ensuringthatthe rigorousoperationalrequirementsofstatelawenforcementwere seamlesslyintegratedintothebuiltenvironment.

AcentralanchorforOklahomaCitysmulti-billiondollar“CoretoShore” redevelopment,this1,100-spacegarageredefinesthetypologyasa "highly-designedreceptacleforcars."The6.5-levelstructure facilitatesseamlessurbantransit,featuringadedicatedhotelvalet basement,integratedofficespace,andanenclosedskybridge connectingdirectlytotheConventionCenterandStreetcarnetwork. MyroleevolvedfromAssistantArchitectduringthedesignphaseto LeadArchitectduringConstructionAdministration,whereIoversaw thetechnicalexecutionofthebuildingssignatureskin.
Theexteriorfeaturesapolycarbonatetilesystemengineered specificallytohost"WhatIstheCityButthePeople,"amassive30,000 SFinstallationbyUKartistMartinDonlin.Thisopen-airfaçadeutilizes a"dappledlight"strategytoreduceartificialenergyloadswhile maximizingusersafetythroughnaturalvisibility.Theproject,which receivedanAIAOklahomaHighDesignAward,standsasatestament totheintegrationofpublicartandhigh-performanceurban infrastructure.

Successfullyexecutedacrosssixdistinctphases,theprojectrequired thehigh-levelorchestrationofarchitects,historicpreservationists,and cityofficials,alongsidecomplexcoordinationwithAmtrakandBNSF Railway.MyroleevolvedfromAssistantArchitecttoLeadArchitect, overseeingthefinalstagesofatransformationthatbridgesOklahoma City’sArtDecoheritagewith21st-centuryurbantransit.
