The votes are in — and the response from our readers was extraordinary.
This year’s “Best of Lake Oswego & West Linn” shattered records, with 13,982 nominations submitted by readers celebrating their favorite local businesses. From there, the top nominees advanced to the final round, generating 32,207 votes — thousands more than last year.
To put that in perspective, nominations jumped from 11,000 in 2024 to nearly 13,000 this year — a whopping 27% increase. Voting climbed by more than 6,000 votes as well. That kind of engagement
doesn’t just reflect popularity — it reflects pride, loyalty and a community that cares deeply about its local businesses.
From an economic development standpoint, the impact is significant. Tens of thousands of interactions — nominations, votes, shares and conversations — create powerful visibility for hundreds of local businesses. That awareness translates into foot traffic, new customers and stronger sales. And when local businesses grow, so does our community.
Local businesses hire local employees. They sponsor youth sports teams and community events. They contribute to local nonprofits and help fund essential services through taxes. Ironlight
In 2020, Lake Oswego added a premiere destination for weddings, major events and meetings — Ironlight.
The venue, which was named Best Event Center and Best Meeting Place, offers a picturesque view of Mt. Hood and the surrounding environment, has a guest capacity of 250 people, an indoor space, two rooftop terraces and ground and garage parking.
The venue hosts weddings, celebrations of life, business meetings, auctions, galas and other gatherings. There is also a coffee service on site.
“Ironlight exudes Pacific Northwest elegance with its wood and glass design elements and panoramic views, making it perfect for any occasion,” the Ironlight website reads.
In the Event Center category, Ale & Cider House placed second, Twill Cellars earned third and Celebrating Centering received an honorable mention.

What are locals doing this summer? They are heading to the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts, of course!
The annual festival spreads from the fields of George Rogers Park to the Lakewood Center for the Arts theater stage, bringing professional artists and musicians into the heart of the community. Hundreds of local volunteers help make the festival possible each

year and curators work with Lakewood to select a featured exhibit with a wide range of themes like the art of the vinyl cover and stop-motion animation.
“There is a unique magic in Lake Oswego that truly comes alive during the Festival. Everyone pitches in to bring our arts education event to life, from Parks & Rec to over 500 volunteers! At Lakewood Center, we believe art should be for everyone, and we are immensely proud to host a free event that has thrived for over 60 years.
