UCF student from Sarasota to appear on ‘Jeopardy’ Hannah Sage, a University of Central Florida sophomore from Sarasota, is among the 15 contestants in the “Jeopardy!” College Championship beginning April 9. During the two-week event, the students will vie for $100,000 and a spot in the next edition of the Tournament of Champions. Sage is a 2016 graduate of St. Stephen’s Episcopal School where she was a National Merit Scholar.

Karen Hicks, a Sarasota County deputy for 30 years and a foster mom for more than a decade, will get a home renovation thanks to The Manatee-Sarasota Building Industry Association. Members held a groundbreaking April 2 for the remodeling of the 1,000-square-foot home. “After hearing her story, we were compelled to help her and the children she takes care of to have a nicer place to live that is also safe,” said CEO Jon Mast.
