First-time writer writes about first-time writers A first-time Sarasota author is excited about his new book about first-time Sarasota authors. Remington Olivetti’s new volume “You Gotta Start Somewhere’’ tells the tale of authors from Sarasota County who got their start right here. “It’s such a wonderful place to write, and clearly, I’m not the only one who thinks so,” he said. Olivetti, 72, spent three years researching his topic and found an unusually high number of first-time authors and was inspired to write about them. “It’s not your first book that’s the hardest,” he said. “It’s the second.”

Campaign uses silver-lining approach Tourism officials announced a new ad campaign this week, designed to make the most of one of the area’s perennial problems: traffic. “Take a Look Around” is the newest tagline to come from ad agency Dewey, Cheatem and Howe and is designed to capitalize on the time Sarasota-area residents and visitors spend in gridlock. “There is so much to see here, if you just slow down and take some time,” agency partner Gloria Howe said. “Fortunately, it’s pretty easy to do.”
