Clothing drive Profile by Stanford, a weight-loss and healthcoaching organization on Clark Road, is in the midst of a clothing drive to benefit Second Chance Last Opportunity, a Sarasota-based intervention center. The clothing drive, which concludes Friday, aims to repurpose clothing the company’s clients no longer use because of their weight loss. One such client is Stephanie Beriault, who donated 55 pounds of apparel, organizers said. The company invites everyone to participate in the drive by dropping off clothes in good condition at Second Chance Last Opportunity, 1933 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Katie Johns

Yacht club sails off with award Sarasota Yacht Club has been recognized for its excellence as a Platinum Club of America. “Being recognized as a Platinum Club by a panel of our peers is among the most respected national recognitions a private club can achieve,” said General Manager and COO Karen Harmon, “It is a benchmark of excellence that we will continue to strive for.” Thirty yacht clubs in the country receive this distinction. It is the first time the Sarasota Yacht Club applied to be considered. The selection criteria are based on such areas as recognition of vessels and members from other clubs, excellence in amenities and facilities and overall experience.
