Drugs disposed of properly The Sarasota Police Department collected 38 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs last weekend. Residents stopped by the department’s headquarters April 27 to drop off their medicine during the the National Drug Take-Back Initiative. Now, members of the Drug Enforcement Administration will dispose of them without harm to the environment or risk of misuse.

Hunger fighters honored All Faiths Food Bank recently named its new entrance for Keith and Linda Monda. The couple co-founded the Campaign Against Summer Hunger (see this year’s campaign totals below), and have long supported All Faiths by funding programs, staff positions and the establishment of a food and resource center in DeSoto County.
