Chamber grads drive through

The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce celebrated the 39 graduates of its Adult Leadership Program with a drive-thru graduation. Sarasota citizens spent more than 10 months in the program, which is meant to grow overall understanding of the Sarasota community’s educational, economic, governmental, cultural and environmental segments. The students’ group project was creating a sensory garden at The Florida Center.
Blood drives make difference
As the need for convalescent plasma has intensified, SunCoast Blood Centers have had help from local organizations collecting blood and plasma for people in need. Vimvest, a financial technology and advisory company, partnered with SunCoast Blood Centers and hosted a blood drive July 28 that saw 32 registered donors give blood. Seven of those donors were able to give a total of 28 doses of convalescent plasma. The Suncoast Science Center held a blood drive on July 29 with 71 donors.
Turtle Tracks Because of an issue with servers at Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium, the full nesting report was not available for July 26 to Aug. 1.
