Pumpkins and Sunshine
Valerie Welch and her Southeastern Guide Dog, Micky, enjoyed picking out a pumpkin recently to decorate as part of The Sunshine Kids Foundation virtual pumpkin-decorating party. Valerie, 16, and other area kids each received their own goodie bag to make their pumpkins their own. Along with decorating supplies, the kids also received lots of Halloween treats and crafts. The Sunshine Kids Foundation adds quality of life to children with cancer by providing them with exciting, positive group activities.

Scarier than dirt
If you’re looking for a splash of spooky to go along with a clean car, Tommy’s Express Tunnel is putting on a Halloween car wash event at its Sarasota location. Starting Thursday, Oct. 29, the car wash in Sarasota and North Port will have a “Tunnel of Terror” attraction where drivers will be scared by colorful, costumed workers looking to add some fright to your trip. Crazed clowns, ghosts and other masked monsters will be waiting in the dark areas of the car wash, lit up by strobe lights and special effects. The events run 7:30-10 p.m. Oct. 29-31.
