Planting protection While vacationing in New Zealand, Jack and Nancy Rozance took some time to do a good deed. The two Longboat Key Rotarians took time during their visit to a yellow-eyed penguin preserve near Dunedin, New Zealand, to plant two trees. The idea came from the president of Rotary International’s request that Rotarians worldwide plant a tree this year.

Going Blue
Speaking the same language.. INSIDE
The Resort at Longboat Key Club is now recognized as a Blue Community. The club is the first to earn this certification from The Blue Community Observatory hosted by the Patel College of Global Sustainability at the University of South Florida, now an affiliate of the UNWTO International Network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories. Blue Communities use strategies for a sustainable planet and healthy ocean. The observatory aims to provide tourism managers with information related to tourism impacts on environmental, social and economic impacts.
