This is the second of two rings found on Longboat beaches.
Missing a ring? What is it with the lost wedding rings on Longboat Key beaches? On two recent occasions, social media posters have alerted the world to rings they’ve found in the sand. The first one, found by a man with a metal detector June 30, was inscribed with the date Dec. 25, 1955, and a single name. Last week, a second ring with a blue accent stripe and a specific inscription was found in the sand by someone cleaning up trash.

Not just for cars In the new parking garage on St. Armands Circle, just across the street and down a little ways from the St. Armands Key Lutheran Church, is a hidden gem for cyclists. Along with a multitude of racks for parking and locking, there’s a tower to hang a bike by its wheels for quick repairs with the attached tools, such as wrenches and screwdrivers. There’s also an air pump for when you’re feeling a little deflated. Know your bike needs a tune-up, but not sure what to do? Simply scan the QR code on top of the tower for quick repair tips.
