Town Center Green work is accounted for in the town’s budget.

A few days ago, the chef who stood outside La Norma (and its predecessor) in the Centre Shops vanished. Upon closer and muchmore-alarming inspection, his feet were still planted right where he left them. Facebook was agog. No, the dead-ringer for Chef Boyardee hasn’t met with foul play or given up on Longboat traffic and headed back to the old country. La Norma folks tell us a storm damaged him, and he has been moved to the back of the restaurant.

Town values dip a bit

Kindness keeps on With the prospects of Operation Kindness’ week of fundraising sidelined in April, the Longboat Key volunteer group that supports wounded Florida veterans quickly developed a Plan B. Through the work of members and the generosity of donors and sponsors, Operation Kindness raised $85,000. The organizations that will receive funds are SRQ Vets, Operation Warrior Resolution, Vets2Success, Southeastern Guide Dogs, K9’s for Warriors and more.
