Chamber could savor some help As folk rocker Jackson Browne famously said, “They’re the first to come and the last to leave, working for that minimum wage.’’ Well, what the Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce has to offer isn’t quite fullon rock-star roadie status or top-billing in a Top 40 song. But still, it needs a little help with the next three Savor the Sounds events in March, April and May. You won’t have to “roll them cases out and lift them amps,” but you might have to arrive early to help set up, stay for free to listen to the concert and then stay just a little bit longer to clean up. (Did you catch the “free” part?) Say that you will. Call the chamber at 383-2466.

Suit up for turtles Turtle nesting season will be here before you know it, and what better way to support the little guys than with a Longboat Key Turtle Watch T-shirt? The organization is selling purple heather cotton shirts (modeled above by the Montes family) and quick-dry shirts for adults and kids for $20 and $15, respectively. The cotton shirts can be purchased at the UPS store in the Centre Shops, and the quick-dry shirts can be purchased at the Rip Current store in Whitney Beach Plaza.
