In 1969, the Longboat Key Garden Club planted its roots as a philanthropic and eco-friendly organization. Now, the club is about to embark on its 50th year beautifying Longboat Key. On Sept. 5, the Garden Club’s board members gathered to plan the upcoming season, which will incorporate the 50th anniversary in the club’s meetings and events. The club is always accepting new members. More information about the club and membership can be found at lbkgardenclub. org.
