Stepping in to help The Rev. Michael Durning will join the All Angels by the Sea Episcopal family while the church continues its search for a permanent priest. Durning, a former canon for the Episcopal Diocese of Southwest Florida, will begin his service at All Angels on Jan. 14, following the departure of the interim priest the Rev. Dee DeMontmollin. Durning previously visited the All Angels parish as a diocese representative for the Rev. David Danner’s 10th anniversary. Danner retired and moved to Canada with his wife, Wafa, in August.

Yacht club sails off with award Sarasota Yacht Club has been recognized for its excellence as a Platinum Club of America. “Being recognized as a Platinum Club by a panel of our peers is among the most respected national recognitions a private club can achieve,” said General Manager and COO Karen Harmon, “It is a benchmark of excellence that we will continue to strive for.” Thirty yacht clubs in the country receive this distinction. It is the first time the Sarasota Yacht Club applied to be considered. The selection criteria are based on such areas as recognition of vessels and members from other clubs, excellence in amenities and facilities and overall experience.
