A pair of bald eagles were spotted Oct. 26 atop a tree near Town Hall. These birds are one of an estimated 1,500 couples nesting in Florida, making the state one of the densest concentrations of our national bird in the lower 48, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Israel honors tennis leader In 2001, Larry Greenspon was introduced to the Israel Tennis Centers after competing in the Maccabiah Games. Since then he has chaired 15 years of ITC exhibition in Sarasota and Longboat Key. And now, ITC is recognizing his dedication in a big way. On Oct. 23, the Israel Tennis Centers Foundation named Israel’s premier tennis center in Ramat Hasharon in honor of Larry and Mary Greenspon.
